Forum: Have you ever fallen asleep while working?
Aloha Katelyn,

I have never fallen asleep while at work. As a barista that would be really hard to do! However, I have fallen asleep so many times while studying or doing homework/assignments. In fact falling asleep while doing school work is pretty regular for me. Especially if I am in a comfortable position and it is past 10:30 at night. Lights out!

I usually wake up after a few minutes and either finish homework or put the work off until the next day.

Thanks for the forum!

My manager at work used to work for Disneyland in California. I have only been to Disney world in Orlando. We go back and forth about which one is better. Obviously we are both a little biased, so now its up to you!

Which is better/do you prefer? Why?

Don't get me wrong, I think both are great, but I just can't imagine anything better than the one in Orlando.

Can't wait to revisit this discussion tomorrow at work :P.

Aloha Kyle,

homework days usually vary with my work schedule. Sometimes I work and go right to school, by the time I get home I'm just too tired to do anything. I try to do little bits of homework as I go though so I can enjoy my days off. But like you said, it's exam week so all bets are off! I'm actually hoping to get a decent amount of work done tonight so I can enjoy my day off tomorrow.

Hope your exam week isn't too rough. Good luck!

Aloha Dymphie,

Like you, I can also function on little to no sleep. Obviously it isn't a preference but I can do just fine once I actually get out of bed. Right now Im usually a level 2. I probably average about 5/6 hours a night, sometimes 7/8 on days I don't have to be at work early. I used to open at Starbucks Mon-Fri so my body has been conditioned to wake up around 4am every morning. If I don't have to be up I will play the sleep for 30-60 minutes and wake ups until I finally have to get up. Definitely think my sleeping habits are a little less common than most but it works for me.

Subject: Asked to stay/come in early at work

Forum: Asked to stay/come in early at work
Aloha CNET,

Have you been asked to stay late or come in early at your job? Is it a regular occurrence? How do you say no?

So yesterday I was asked to stay late at work for an additional 3 hours. Today I was asked to come in 2 hours early. I guess people are calling out or whatever the situation is, but when is enough, enough? I can’t complain too much because I can use the extra money, but it definitely is still a slight annoyance. What are your thoughts and experiences with this?

Aloha Dymphie,

Great that you guys found a tool to help with studying for the test. Those end of the semester test can be hard, especially in the medical field!

Like you I find finishing the finals assignments at the close of semesters extremely relieving. I usually can take a huge breathe of relief and enjoy whatever time I have left.

Thanks for the forum.

Forum: Woke up late and everything was thrown off
Aloha CNET,

So this morning I was woken up early to a call from the East Coast...I shut my alarms thinking I was up for the day and fell back asleep....overslept for my morning run and in just enough time to get ready and make it to work. Because of this, I didn't have time to post a forum or vote in the beginning half of today...

Have you ever had this days that just seem off? today was definitely one of them. It wasn't a bad day, just off. Hope you all are having a great day and have a great rest of the week!

Forum: What do you do on random weekdays off?
Aloha CNET,

I work at Starbucks so my schedule fluctuates every week. Sometimes it can be nice but on a whole it kind of makes it hard to plan things. I am off today and find it hard to figure out what to do. I slept in until about 7/7:30 which was nice and made a nice breakfast. I'm torn between getting ahead on the last few projects I have for the semester or enjoying the beach.

What do you do on your days off? Do you have a set schedule? Do you have a routine for your off days?

Thanks for visiting.

Aloha CNET,

How early do you get to work? 10 minutes? 20? 30? An hour?

I usually like to get to work 30 minutes before I start. That’s usually when I do me forum post and have some coffee. If I’m not there 15 minutes before I start panicking that I’ll be late. What about you?

Happy Monday!!
