Forum: Have you ever fallen asleep while working?
Aloha Katelyn,

I have never fallen asleep while at work. As a barista that would be really hard to do! However, I have fallen asleep so many times while studying or doing homework/assignments. In fact falling asleep while doing school work is pretty regular for me. Especially if I am in a comfortable position and it is past 10:30 at night. Lights out!

I usually wake up after a few minutes and either finish homework or put the work off until the next day.

Thanks for the forum!

Aloha,

I’m all about the real thing!! I just prefer the actual page turning. I feel like I also lose my spot more often when reading on an electronic device. The only plus side to a kindle is when you’re reading at the beach. No sun glaring on the page making it hard to see and no wind blowing the pages.

Forum: Stay positive!
With finals week here or approaching just remember to stay positive!! Exams and projects have a way of overloading us and changes our outlook on things. Remember to take a deep breathe and see the good!
Soon the semester will be over and we will all have a nice break!

Good luck to all those with exams, projects, and assignments!!

Aloha Erin,

A lot of times I will go on a hike, walk, run, anything outdoors really. When I am really stressed I just have to get outside for a little bit to clear my head. It works wonders for me. Hope it works for you as well!

Forum: Homework and studying
Aloha Kyle,

homework days usually vary with my work schedule. Sometimes I work and go right to school, by the time I get home I'm just too tired to do anything. I try to do little bits of homework as I go though so I can enjoy my days off. But like you said, it's exam week so all bets are off! I'm actually hoping to get a decent amount of work done tonight so I can enjoy my day off tomorrow.

Hope your exam week isn't too rough. Good luck!

Aloha Julia,

I prefer to take notes in pencil as my handwriting can be quite messy when rushing to take notes. Pencil allows me to go back and rewrite things when I have more time. I also like the resistance pencils provide when writing. I feel like pens glide over the paper and make my penmanship even worse. Everyone I have talked to about this seems to think I'm strange in preferring this. Oh well :P

Thanks for the great forum.

Aloha Dymphie,

My #1 gift this year would be Rosetta Stone. I recently decided I wanted to become fluent in Spanish and Italian in the next few years. I have always loved languages and decided why not learn now? It is expensive which is why it would be an amazing gift, but I'm not expecting it at all.

Good luck on your NCLEX!!!

Aloha,

I heard about CNET from a friend in September. I was skeptic at first but she told me she actually won so I figured I would try it out. They way I see it any amount of money helps so why not try!

Welcome to CNET and hope you win some scholarships while you're here!

Forum: Do you Work and go to School?
Aloha Julia,

I am currently in grad school and working just under full time. I work 30-38 hours a week (they cap workers at 39 hours to keep from paying overtime). I go to class three nights a week and work 5 days a week. It can get tough at times but overall it just requires some planning.

Thanks for the post, hope school and work aren't too much in January!

Aloha Thankful,

I am right there with you! I want to stop procrastinating. After work I just want to relax and unwind and then I put off doing homework. My days off I like to spend on me, whether that is having a slow morning with no rush to get out of bed, hiking, going to the beach, or just relaxing and watching a movie or reading. Before I know it, the day is over and I still haven't finished my homework. I have been getting better and it feels nice not having to worry about the work. So I'm totally with you on getting rid of the procrastination habit.

Thanks for the forum!
