Forum: Can you do your job without the internet?
Hi Beth,

At my old job, if we were to lose internet access, we could still do our job, though it would be a little more tricky and there are a few things that required the internet to access certain data.

At my current job, although inconvenient, I believe that I would be okay in my specific department. I set up and take down events at my University. So essentially, I am moving chairs and tables around...a lot. We would simply print the diagrams and such. Though other departments that are interconnected with ours, such as the one that works with clients, would have much, much longer processes to get the room diagrams to our department.

I know that future careers I may have will definitely require the internet.

Forum: Wired or wireless headphones?
Hi Dan,

I definitely prefer wireless headphones because I do not like dealing with the wire. Unlike @reneemartin1826, I do not have to charge them often at all. I like the convenience and I find that with wired headphones (which is what I have now) I am spending more time wrapping them up properly or getting them untangled much more than necessary.

I would say that that takes 10 minutes of my day each day. It does seem minuscule, however, those minutes really add up! Thank goodness for bluetooth technology!

Hi teebeetoo,

I find it very rude when people are using the phone extensively at the dinner table. I know that it is very common, however, I much prefer it when people are interacting with each other and interested in who they are eating with.

Often, if I feel the need to use my phone, I will say that I am about to use my phone for xyz reason, and then I get off my phone afterwards. That way, people are not alienated and I am in communication about my phone use that is super obvious to everyone at the table.

Forum: Have You Ever Used Headspace?
Headspace is a really great app that has many guided meditations. I like the voice because it is very clearly recorded, great pace, fantastic accent, and very relaxing.

Have you ever used Headspace before?
If yes, did you like it? Why or why not?
Do you meditate?

____________

I recently downloaded the app and I am going to start using it every morning! I am really committed to integrating meditation into my life again and increasing focus and productivity throughout my day.

Subject: Phone Carriers

Forum: Phone Carriers
What phone carrier do you use?
Do you like them? Or is your phone bill expensive?
Do you use a lot of data per month?
What kind of phone do you have and why?

____________

I have an iPhone 7 and I love it! The camera is pretty good and mine is 128 GB, so it has a lot of memory. I have a lot of audiobooks and Japanese and Hebrew recordings.

I also have Mint Mobile, which is a phone carrier. I love Ming Mobile because I pay only $25 per month for 10 GB of data, 8 GB being high speed data.

They have you pay the entire year upfront, so it is $300 per year, or a little bit more if you preferred to pay three or six months at a time. I prefer one year because then I do not have to worry about my phone bill or anything for an entire year.

They use either AT&T or T-Mobile network‘s, meaning GSM networks. It is nice that any unlocked GSM can be compatible with this carrier. The service area coverage is decent as well.

Forum: How much time do you spend on your phone daily?
Hi Jon,

I spend probably 4-5 hours a day total on my phone. For sure 1-2 hour is passively on my phone (audiobooks, music, etc.) and 1-2 hours are on the phone with people calling them and such. The last 1-2 hour is playing on my phone and usually not productive.

2 hours - audiobooks, music, etc.
2 hours - calling people in my life
1 hour - non productive time

I could definitely cut out the non productive phone use. I know that it does not serve me or what I am up to in life.

Thank you for the forum!

Cheers!

Forum: Apps on your phone
Hi MotivatedOne,

One app I have on my phone is WhatsApp as well. I use it for group chats and such with people. I think it is very useful, though the call audio is not very good and iPhone FaceTime Audio is better.

Another app I have is called Later. It helps me post regularly on Instagram, which reminds me that it is time to upload my new photos onto the app! :)

The third app I have on my phone is Audible. I absolutely LOVE audiobooks. They are incredibly useful in the car. I love getting in my daily wisdom each day from them. I am very fortunate to be able to use my friend's account. He has such great books and I appreciate being able to use his since it is a monthly subscription each month.

Cheers!

Hi Kasey,

I really do not bother to log out of my stuff. I really should take better care of that, though I am always on my laptop and everything is in front of me. I change important passwords regularly, so that helps.

Hi Beth,

I have an iPhone 7 and I enjoyed the size because of the convenience. However, I would be very happy to have an iPhone 7 Plus because I like the bigger screen. Anything bigger than an iPhone plus is too big though. Navigation is much easier with the bigger phone, as well as doing college I have an iPhone 7 and I enjoyed the size because of the convenience. Navigation is much easier with the bigger phone, as well as doing CollegeNet, though convenience wins for a smaller phone. My next phone will probably be the iPhone X.
