One thing I miss about being is kid, is nap time.

I remember in elementary school, after we had our snack, we would lay out the sleeping mats, and sleep for some time, then afterwards we'd play a game, and wait for our parents to pick us up.

Now i have no time for naps, everyday is jam packed with responsibilites that needs to get done. :(

What is the one thing you miss about being a kid?

Subject: One More Day

Forum: One More Day
Just a simple question.

If you knew you had one more day to live, how would you spend it?

How did matter and energy first begin? Has it always been there? If matter and energy have always been forever, doesnt that go against formal logic stating that everything must have a start?

Did matter and energy self create? If so does that not go against the law of conservation stating that energy and matter cannot be created nor destroyed?

Could the universe and the cosmos all be an illusion of the human mind? If so that would also go against formal logic. If the worlds are an illusion humans would be living a falacy. No human lives like that. If you walk in the street and see a truck coming, believing that it is all an illusion will not make the truck hit you.

Where did it all come from? How did it begin, every theory has its arguments. It hurts my head thinking of it.

I alreadly have my answer, but i'll wait to post it. :)
Cnet what do you believe?

Subject: Your Carbon Copy

Forum: Your Carbon Copy
Do you believe that there is someone else out there in the world, that looks exactly like you?

I was skepitical at first, but this past saturday changed everything.

My church choir was invited to minister in songs, at another church's singing event. When we arrived there was a girl sitting on the opposite side from me, and she looked so familiar. You know that feeling when you see someone, but you just can't place where you've seen them before? well yea, multiply that feeling times 10!! It kept on nagging me, she looked so familiar, I know i've seen her before, but I couldn't place where...
My friend Laura who sat by me, suddenly gasped and was like "Woah Temi that girl looks just like yo"!!'. And everyone else in my row started saying how she did, it was crazy.
A lady even got up from her sit durint he program, and came to me saying, that girl is you.
So when I went up to sing, i walked past her, afterward when I sat back down, she just kept on staring at me, like i'd look at her, then she'd look away, it was freaky!!
Then, I bumped into her in the bathroom!!! and I was shocked, and she just blurted out, 'My family says we look like twins', then I was like "OMGOSH, everyone in my choir said the same thing". so we spoke for like 5mins, I found out that she is actually a twin, but her twin looked nothing like her, she's 14, and turns 15 next week, and we exchanged #'s.

After the program her parents came up to me, lol I found out that we spoke the same language, and we are both Nigerian, so i think we may be distant relatives in some way. the resemblance is so freaky.

So the feeling I had when I first saw her, was basically me looking at my reflection, that's where i've seen her before.

The next day, one of the older ladys at church told me that it's funny how God works, and it's proof that everyone is created in God's image, because she even thought that girl was me when she saw her.

Anyway it still freaks me out, i tried to explain the magnitude of the resemblance to my mom, but she just has to see the other girl to know what I mean.

So Cnet do you think that there is someone else out there that looks just like you? face, height, body movement?. Even my siblings were amazed when they saw her. it's uncanny.

Forum: Free your mind
So this seven questions has helped me to really think and free my mind; hopefully it helps others out as well.

So go ahead Cnet, answer the questions. :)

1) How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
2) When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
3) Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing
4) If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
5) What’s something you know you do differently than most people?
6) At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive?
7) When was the last time you noticed the sound of your own breathing?

Forum: What is the riskiest thing you have ever done?
The riskiest thing i have ever in my 18 years of living, may sound silly to most of you.

So when i was 10th grade i had a spanish class with a senior that i liked. we started talking and he asked me out to the movies then dinner, I was soooooo ecstatic!! so of course i said YES.
Then later on during the day i remembered that my parents didn't want me to date or even have a boyfriend, i felt so torn, cause there was no way i could ask their permission to go out with this guy, they would say no. :(
So when i got home, i called my bestfriend and told her what happended and how i was feeling depressed about what to do.
she being a cunning individual came up with the idea of me lying to my parents. The plan was to tell them that I was going to the movies with my bestfriend, and that her dad would pick me up from home.
When i told my parents my heart was beating like crazy! but they believed me, because i never gave them a reason not to.

So on friday my date drove to the front of my house and beeped the horn, i was soo nervous, then my dad wanted to goout and say hi, (thinking it was my friend's dad) i thought i would pass out, but then my mom called him for something, so i just quickly said bye and ran out the house.

During the ride to the movies all i could think about was "OMGOSH i'm riding with a senior, what if he's a bad driver, i lied to my parents, somehow they are going to to find out, no one knows where i am but my friend". I could not even pay attention to the movie, i felt so stiff, it sucked.
i just couldn't wait to get out, all my worrying made me feel sick. I told him we had to skip dinner because i was full (a lie) I just wanted to go home. when we got to the front of my house, i blabbered something along the lines of : thanks for today, sorry i was so awkward, see you in class, i'll text you tomorrow.

Never again after that incident have i said yes to another date. now that i look back all i can do is laugh.

I hate doing anything that makes me uncomfortable. lol so that is the riskiest thing i've ever done.

Cnet what about you? was it skydiving? eating worms? what? lol

Subject: Should prostitution be made legal?

Forum: Should prostitution be made legal?
I remember a disscusion i had with a group of people back in high school, someone joked about how prostitiutes should pay taxes.

In most of Europe and Asia, it is legalized but carefully regulated and has been a success.

some of the reasons that my peers brought up was that it could be regulated by the government, and thus taxed heavily. It is a product that is in constant demand and you'd have no shortage of clients. If it was monitored, then it would be safer as well since it then it could be regulated and people could be tested. It would also reduce crime rates since the need for street prostitution would be minimized or eliminated

My thoughts were: no no no lol

But I would love to hear what the members of Cnet think?

If you had just one wish what would you wish for?
I know how cliche this is going to sound, but i would wish for World Peace? why? well simply because I hate wars.
I'm sure the world would still be exicting as it is today without countries targeting each other.

What would you wish for (you can NOT wish for extra wishes) :)
superpowers? money? time machine? cure for cancer? bring someone back to life? what would it be?

Remember be careful what you wish for.

Subject: Boy sets himself on fire.

Forum: Boy sets himself on fire.
A Pakistani boy who set himself on fire because his parents could not afford to buy him a new school uniform has died, his family and officials said Sunday.

The tragic story is a reminder of the woeful lives of Pakistan's many dirt-poor citizens. It brings out the challenges facing those clinging to the hope that education could be the ticket to climbing up from the bottom rung of society.

Like many in Pakistan, 13-year-old Kamran Khan's family did not have enough money to send him to school. He was such a promising student that a local private school allowed him to attend for free, said the boy's older brother, Saleem Khan.

Even then, the family struggled. The boys' father borrowed money from relatives to buy a work visa to Saudi Arabia four months ago, but he hasn't yet found a job there, said the elder Khan. Their mother works as a maid.

The younger Khan used to wander the streets in Shabqadar, their town of 60,000 in northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, looking for bits of metal scrap and other items to sell to help out the family, said his brother.

He never asked for anything, his brother said, but last month he pleaded with his mother for several days to buy him a new school uniform, a white shalwar kameez, the loose-fitting pants and top worn by both men and women in Pakistan. He was embarrassed that his old one was worn out and patched up.

His mother sympathized with him but repeatedly told him the family didn't have the money. She finally lost her patience with him on March 24 and slapped him, said his brother.
The young boy responded by saying, "If you can't buy me a uniform, then I'm going to kill myself," according to his brother.

He stormed out of their house, doused himself with gasoline and lit himself on fire, said his brother. The youth suffered burns on 65 percent of his body. He was taken to an army-run hospital in Punjab province. But the family could only raise one-tenth of the roughly $5,500 they needed for his treatment.

Cnet what do you think?
