Forum: Free public transit?
Hey Kasey,
I don’t think public transport needs to be free exactly but it definitely needs to be way more affordable. I think our taxes could help subsidize a good transportation system. Now people will say but that would raise them. It really shouldn’t though because there should then be less cars on the roads and you will have less money going into road repair and as Kasey mentioned hopefully less car accidents.

Here in Hawaii we have the bus. It is not very reliable, I have spent an hour waiting for a bus that never showed. It is always late or early. It also takes FOREVER. My university requires us to buy a bus pass. I only take it a handful of times because it takes soo long due to all the stops. A year pass is $770. That is not cheap considering you can get a beat up car for 1k or 2k and that you don’t have to repay in a year. Granted you don’t have to pay for gas or maintenance. Still though that is expensive. My school offers us a discount and we pay $80 a semester. Honolulu has some of the worst traffic in the world and our public transport system is horrible. They are working on building a light rail but that has so many issues, I’m just not going to go there.

Hi Raeanna,
I have dyslexia. When I was in first grade my teacher told me I was stupid and she said I had ADHD and wanted my parents to medicate me. The first time my parent tooling me to a child psychiatrist they doctor was just like ok and wrote a prescription without really examine or testing me. Then we went for a second opinion and that doctor said I had dyslexia and fidgeted in class due to not understanding.

I was lucky in 4th and 5th grade that I had some amazing teacher that helped me figure out the best way I can learn. Students with learning disabilities are not incable of learning but have to learn a different way. Now I am a special education teacher and hopefully will Be have as good as those teacher that helped me.

Hey free money floating by, I am for sure grabbing some of that. Now, if armed guards came by and said hey that is bank money we had an accident, can you please return it, then I will. Other wise totally finders keepers.

Hi CNetters,
Here is my petition I created online. Please sign it, share it, pester your friends and family to sign it. Who knows maybe if we show enough support they might rethink closing down the site. It is worth a shot and at least we can say we try.

Let me know what you think and if you want me to change or add anything. You can also add your own reason for signing to the petition, which I think will further help it.

Hey Maggie,
First off I loved your car choice. I love Subarus and don’t think they are boring at all. I would love a bran new forester. I just can’t afford it haha that was the other car I was thinking I could be. I loved your explanation for why that as you. It totally made me smile.

I love that you are posting about other scholarships out there. These ones sound really interesting. I don’t know if any at the moment. I guess I will have to do some research. If I find any I will post it.

There is this app I play called HQ. It is a trivia app. It is free to play and if you get all the questions right you can win money. At the start they say what the pit is so usually 5k but it varies. The money gets split by all the players who are remaining at the end. Once you get a question wrong you are out. I have never managed to Win yet but it is still fun to play.

Hi Dymphie,
I haven’t missed a day since I started and I said I wasn’t going to stop till I graduated. Now that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen but doesn’t mean I can give up early. Granted I am not looking very good in the rankings and I didn’t win last week. But even if I don’t win at all these last two weeks I do really enjoy reading forums, answering them, and scrolling through and seeing what others say. It’s become such a habit that I will Be really sad when I can’t do it in anymore. So I will continue on and cross my fingers that CNET will change their mind.

Hi Beth,
I don’t mind data entry so much. Like you said you can zone out. I have had to enter large amounts of data before when I worked as a biologist. You can just zone out and get in a groove and boom it’s done.

What job sucks is checking the data. My eyes start to go all cross eyed and water from starting at numbers for so long. Then I start getting a headache. Ugh I hated checking my data.

Forum: Happy Hour!
I love happy hour. My favorite happy hour is this one restaurant called Moku. They use local ingredients and are environmentally conscious using paper straws and the food is amazing. I can’t afford it regularly but I can afford their happy hour. Their drinks are exactly the same as when they aren’t on happy hour...strong. I mainly go for their food but they have this amazing mai tai they do with this passion fruit foam on top, soooo good. I like to take people their during happy hour for their birthdays because they give you a free slice of ice cream cake.

Hi CNetters,
I am going to create a petition to send to CNet to try and convince them to keep the scholarships going. It might be too little to late but I figure it doesn’t hurt to try.

Would you sign the petition and share it around? Have any suggestions on what I should put in it?

I am going to work on it today and will share it on my next post.
