Forum: Group Projects?
Hey!

Do you enjoy working on group projects, either in school or at work?

I personally am not a fan. I had to do a group project this past quarter, but I really tend to work better alone. I ended up doing almost all the work, and I kinda wish that the assignment had just been individual with slightly less work to do than what ended up happening. But oh well, what's done is done. I like group projects if I'm with people I trust and know are competent, but other than that I'm really not a fan.

How about you all?

All the best,
Matt

Hey everybody,

It's been a while since I've been on here, so I wanted to do something simple and just check in with folks. I see a lot of people I remember, but also a significant number of new faces! So, what's up? How are you doing today? How has this week been?

I'm doing okay today. I'm pretty tired but my mood is decent. I was kinda down and anxious all day yesterday and Monday but I was able to spend some quality time with my partner last night and we had some really good conversations. I've been feeling kinda alienated from everybody recently but being able to have a somewhat deep discussion about life and dreams and projects and politics while across from someone you love while looking into their eyes...I guess my point is, it helps make those feelings more manageable.

So, how has your day been? Your week? I look forward to engaging more with you all as the summer continues!

All the best,
Matt

Hey collegenet!

Do you have any long-term goals for things besides general career stuff? I personally have a goal of being fluent in three languages by the time I'm 30. I'm thinking those would be English, German, and Spanish. One down, two to go haha. I have a beginning grasp on German and Spanish, but I have a long ways to go.

All the best,
Matt

Hi Anna!

Today my friend and I were walking home together and just had a really nice moment where we were both laughing and smiling. It was really nice and made me feel good.

Hey CNET!

An easy one for today. Do you exercise on any sort of regular basis? What do you do?

I haven't really done a lot in the past, but recently I've been running with a few of my friends. It's only once every other day, but at least it's something right? I just hope we actually keep it up as the quarter progresses and we get more busy/lazy. I also think I should add some other things on, but I'm not quite sure what those should be quite yet.

All the best,
Matt

Hi Anna!

Generally I'm pretty decent working under pressure. Sometimes it gets way too stressful though, like when I'm tired and unable to fully concentrate or when I have a hard deadline that I'm worried I won't actually be able to make. Nothing is more terrifying than realizing that you might not be able to finish in time, and then freaking out about that the entire time. Like you, last minute is no-good.

All the best,
Matt

Hey everybody!

When you're at a restaurant, do you usually get a drink (other than water) along with your meal? I used to always get a soda or a tea or something but I stopped doing so when I stopped drinking soda two years ago. I'm sure I'll start ordering more things once I turn 21 in a few days, but I very rarely get a drink. It also saves money, as often they'll charge something like $3 and it starts to add up quick!

All the best,
Matt

Hey Kamrin!

I'm probably gonna have to go with the wombat! They're adorable, but also terrifying. Sometimes they literally suffocate attackers with their butts. I just kinda love that. Other than that, I'd probably go with wolves. I super duper loved them as a kid, and they were my favorite animal for the longest time. Then, my high school mascot was a wolf. But I recently learned about wombats and I'm in love.

Matt

Hi Tom!

It's almost 10pm here on the West Coast. I've been busy all day but I still feel like I haven't gotten anything done! I'm getting dinner soon actually because my schedule is little messed up haha.

All the best,
Matt

Forum: Is it okay for adults to play video games?
Hey!

I think it definitely depends on a bunch of different factors. For example, perhaps the person actually works in the gaming industry in some capacity. Or they use games as a form of relaxation and self care. The problem comes when games seem to be running their lives and they ignore other responsibilities because of that. I don't think it makes you a childish person to enjoy video games as an adult. What makes you childish is if it's all you do, and you you're doing it instead of other things. I think if people are able to manage their time correctly, then it's not a bad thing and can actually be helpful for their health if they're using it to de-stress or whatever.

All the best,
Matt
