Forum: Usual bedtime?
Hey everybody!

When do you usually go to bed? I was talking to somebody yesterday and she was amazed that I usually sleep at 12 or 1. She said she almost always stays up until 3, which I thought was pretty late.

How about you guys? When do you usually sleep? What do you consider early or late for a bed time?

All the best,
Matt

Forum: Essay topics?
Hey CNET!

Do you find it easy coming up with essay topics, or is it something you struggle with?

I need to pick a topic to advocate for in an essay for my writing class, but I'm having a really hard time picking one. I have a list of ten different possible topics, but I can't make myself settle on just one. I regularly have this problem, and I wish I could just pick one so that I could actually get started on the writing part.

How about you? Do you take a long time coming up with topics? Do you enjoy doing so?

All the best,
Matt

Hello!

Once, I tripped and kicked an ottoman. The kick had enough force behind it that my muscle was detached from the bone. As it detached, it took part of the bone with it and ended up giving me a fractured ankle. So then I had to explain to everybody at school that the reason I was in a cast and on crutches was that I'm bad at kicking...

Forum: What are you reading?
Hello!

Currently I'm trying to make my way through "Metamagical Themas: Questing for the Essence of Mind and Pattern". I suspect I'll be reading it on and off for quite a while.

The last book I finished was "Abbadon's Gate," the second book in the sci-fi series The Expanse. The whole series came highly recommended and the first two books were really good. I'll probably pick up the third one once midterms die down a little. I have a bad habit of reading several different books at once and taking a while to actually complete them all.

All the best,
Matt

Hi Abby!

I'm glad to hear it! I remember seeing your original post about the whole situation, so it's really really nice to know that things turned out okay!

Mine is kinda dumb, but today I got confirmation that I'm gonna be allowed to take a graduate class under a professor who really likes me (I'm an undergrad). I dunno, it just made me feel really happy about myself and my future, even if it's kind of a small thing in the end.

Matt

Hey Anna!

I'm 20 years old, and I also use the money I get here to pay off my current tuition costs. I wanna take out the smallest amount of loans as possible so I'm not completely saddled with debt for the rest of my life, so I'm trying to be proactive now before it's too late!

Matt

Subject: Comfort and Support?

Forum: Comfort and Support?
Hey everybody!

Does giving comfort and support to others in tough times come naturally to you, or is it something you struggle with?

I'm personally in the second camp. I'm a lot better at it in person, but I still kinda struggle. And it's very challenging for me over text. Sometimes I know exactly the right thing to say, but usually I'm just kinda left sitting there not knowing what to do or say or anything. And sometimes I won't say anything out of fear of saying something that makes it worse. I wish I was better at it, and its something I've been trying to work on. But I can only do so much before I hit a wall, despite my genuine desire to help.

How about you? Do you enjoy providing support for others? Does it come easy for you?

All the best,
Matt

Hi Anna!

I have United, which I get through my dad (who in turn gets it from his work). I've only had them for a year, and haven't had any major issues. They seem like any other insurance company, except for the few who run on the Kaiser model.

Hey everybody!

Are you a fan of amusement parks? Do you go to them often? Which is your favorite?

I personally really like amusement parks, but I don't get to go all too often. My friends and I are gonna go to Six Flags Magic Mountain this weekend, which I'm excited for since I've never been and I've heard the roller coasters are really good.

So, how about you?

All the best,
Matt

Subject: Bedtime routine/falling asleep?

Forum: Bedtime routine/falling asleep?
Hey everybody!

Do you have a routine you follow right before going to sleep? Do you find falling asleep to be easy, or do you need to do something extra?

I personally always do things like brushing teeth and such right before I get into bed. Then, every single night I put on either some music or a podcast, along with my fan for white noise. It always takes me forever to quiet my mind enough to fall asleep, so I need something to distract me until I sleep. That usually lasts between 30 minutes to an hour. If things are really bad, I'll take a melatonin gummy.

So, how about you all?

All the best,
Matt
