Howdy Sarah,

I like taking online classes over on-campus classes.

I think online classes are great for those that are self-motivated and can learn well on their own. More time, more flexible schedule are also bonuses. The support you get from online classes can be lack-luster and the networking is just horrendous.

On-campus classes provide a better work environment. I think some of my best work was done when I had to go to on-campus classes. I didn't have as flexible a schedule and felt like the lectures were to time consuming, I learned the material faster than it was taught. You're able to also network with teachers, which might be the most important reasons to take on-campus classes over online. Networking is huge for when you actually get out of college.

Howdy Unique_girl17,

I go for comfort first and style after. I hate wearing clothes that aren't comfortable. I already hate clothing enough, if I had to wear uncomfortable clothing it would just be the worst.

Howdy Song,

If I was getting a cat, I would get it from a cat shelter. The companion I want though is a serval which I am almost certain you can't get at a cat shelter.

Howdy Emma,

Google Calendar is life for me. I can not live without it. It helps me keep track of my commitments. I never go a day without using it!

Subject: Does your companies mission matter?

Forum: Does your companies mission matter?
Howdy Everyone,

When obtaining a job, does the mission of that company matter to you? Would you quit a job if your values did not align?

-----

I applied to an amazing job yesterday that values aligned with my own. While I am not sure if I will get this job, it would be amazing if I were too. The companies mission does not sacrifice people or our environment for self-gain.

Howdy Everyone,

Have you ever fell asleep at random? Did anything pass you by while you slept?

-----

Last night I fell asleep at random. I was about to finish up Cnet when I just zonked out. I woke up at 2am baffled. I didn't even realize I fell asleep until I woke up.

Howdy bluesapphire7,

This is a super interesting question!

I now live alone and I sometimes close the bathroom door. It isn't something I actively think about. I don't feel self-conscious if the door is open and no one is home.

Howdy Kyle,

I dread family gatherings before going, but once I am there everything is great. I just get up in my head sometimes and think things will happen a certain way. I am almost always wrong though, which is delightful.

Howdy Song,

In the past when opportunity arised I have passed them up. I try not to pass up experience anymore. One of my biggest regrets is passing up a trip to Japan. All I had to do was apply for the scholarship which was $15,000, there were 2 scholarships given out and only 2 people applied for it. I didn't apply cause I didn't think that I had a chance. One of the people that applied was denied the scholarship, so there was one scholarship waiting for me. I was essentially guaranteed this scholarship and passed up the opportunity.

Forum: What should we do if we find life on Mars?
Howdy Sarah,

If we found current or past life on Mars, I am all but certain we will exploit the hell out of it. Ethics doesn't cover all life forms on our own planet, I doubt that it will cover the life forms on another planet. What I think we should do is kind of muddled, this is a pretty big question.

When learning about the different hemispheres of the brain, split-brain monkeys were of tremendous aid. It was hugely considered unethical to split the brain of a monkey, yet the knowledge and resultant advancements in science were seen as worth it. Studies like this saves lives. However, is it right to sacrifice the life of one for the many?

If I had complete control, I wouldn't harm any of the animals present on the planet. I would experiment on dead life forms. I would also totally use animal by-product as long as it didn't harm the animal involved and was more of a symbiotic relationship. I don't think this is a matter of right or wrong. I think in the near future we are going to get to the point of not needing to harm an animal for scientific discoveries. We will be able to run simulations, we just aren't at this point as of yet.

Who owns the genomes... no one should. This sense of ownership is pretty screwy.

I do think we should support missions to mars. I am always up for discovering more about the universe, we are such a finite part of everything.
