Forum: What holds you back from your social life?

With my current employment and grad school, there is no time for a social life. I think the last time I went out with a group of friends was about 3 years ago.

Sure, I have occasional talks in the phone and might run into someone at Wal-Mart while shopping, but that is about it. I tend to stay home when not working, and study as much as possible.

That's my life in a nutshell.

Have a great day!

Forum: Do You Use Nightlights?

Oh my! I have nightlights all over my house. I am a mother of a nine year old little boy who has invested in Lego's and Hot Wheels. There's never a dull moment in my house. I have been known to wake up and scream profanity while having stepped on a toy of some sort. There has been a time or two where my son had a nightmare and I went running into his room while half asleep and caught a toy in between my toes. OUCH! and many other words would roll off my tongue as I tried to reach him.

I have since learned to place nightlights strategically around the house to avoid being attacked by toys that are ready to attack.

Have a great weekend.

Forum: Are you a planner or a spontaneous person?

I am a planner on everything! I sometimes think I have OCD. It drives me crazy to wait until the last minute on just about anything. There has to be some sort of organization in order for me to feel like everything will run smooth. Otherwise, I believe if I just spontaneously did something, things would go wrong. I guess I just have to be prepared.

Enjoy your weekend.

Forum: Would you rather read the book or Watch the movie?
Hello Unique,

I prefer to read the book then watch the movie. I firmly believe in most cases that the book has more detail than the movie. I really enjoy comparing and contrasting the two with my daughter. Her and I read the book and go watch the movie together when our schedules have time to do so. The last book that we read was the book, "Wonder". We have yet to watch the movie, but I could only imagine the book being better. I suppose we will have to wait and just watch the movie.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Subject: All About Teachers

Forum: All About Teachers
Hello Cnetters,

I have been busy this past week advocating at our State Capital for our education system in Oklahoma. I have spent countless hours talking to our state Legislators on the growing demand for funding for our classrooms. I am not sure if any of you have been following the historical event that is ongoing with the teacher "walkout," but there is definitely a movement taking place.

I am not here to bring political discontent to Cnet, but rather would like your thoughts on the experiences you have had with your teachers.

Who is the teacher/coach that impacted your life the most?

Which teacher do you remember most and why?

Looking forward to reading ALL your wonderful experiences.

Forum: Get up! We're late.......
Hello Cnetters,

What a wonderful start to a beautiful morning. Hope all are doing well. I figured, I would jump on here and tell you about my beginning of a new day. Yep, I was startled out of bed thinking I was going to be late for church and started to get ready.

I went around the house waking my family up, telling them to get ready. To my surprise, my daughter informed me that it was only 7:30 a.m. My heightened anxiety had a crash......

So, I am sitting here ready to begin my day and thinking that I had an opportunity to sleep in, and I failed miserably. I just have to laugh at this point. Opps, I did it again........

Anyways, I was just curious of how many of you have ever done the same thing?

Have you ever woke up startled and thought you were late?

How long does it take you to adjust to the time change?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hello Paige,

Oh my, your really gonna make me dig into the back of my brain for this. I remember my first date was a frightful one. I was so nervous. My parents actually let me go out with a boy to the movies. It was a movie called, "Men in Tights".

Okay, I really just exposed my age!

Yes, it was SEVERAL years ago.

I was five minutes late getting home and my parents took five minutes off the next day I went on. Needless to say, the first date was nothing spectacular and I didn't go on another date with that boy again.

I guess my parents were too strict and it scared him away.

Hope you have a great day and good luck this week in the elections.

Hello Elisa,

Your making me have to go back into ancient time and dust off the cobwebs.

I can remember my mom trying to teach me how to drive, but her patience wore thin and my dad had to take over and give me my lessons. I dreaded getting into a 15 passenger van and drive around town. I was embarrassed to say the least.

Learning how to drive and then adding a huge boat of a vehicle was a disaster. I cut corner's because I didn't turn wide enough and it was hard to look into the mirror and know when it was safe to get over. Lot's off fun time though. My dad probably had an indention on the passenger side floor board were there was an imaginary break.

Oh, the memories.....

Have a great day.

Forum: HELLO CNETTER'S.......
Hello Cnetters,

It seems like forever since I been on here. There are so many new faces and I can't wait to share some intellectual conversation. I had taken a break from college after receiving my Bachelor's degree and have just decided this semester that I wanted to pursue my Master's. A huge decision because I didn't want any more student debt than I already had.

Complete 360 degree change and hope I made the right decision. After much thought, I changed my mind in what I wanted to do in life and have found my place in teaching. My heart is teaching children with learning disabilities and after my observation yesterday, I indeed know what I want to be when I grow up.

My questions for all of you consist of a couple of questions.

First, I would love to get to know each of you and if you could tell me a bit about yourself, that would be awesome.

Second, have you ever envisioned yourself being in a certain profession in life and then making a complete change? For example, you wanted to be a Doctor, but then decided to be a Police Office.

Look forward to reading all your responses.

Subject: Taking the Week off......

Forum: Taking the Week off......
Hello Cnetters,

I will not be competing in this weeks election due to my children being very sick. I must tend to their bedside while trying to get them better. I have been losing sleep being up and down with my little man. He has now got a rash that I believe is from the infection.

However, I will be voting daily and I will be posting when I can.

Have a great week and good luck to all.
