Forum: To Freak Out or Not To Freak Out?
Wait what...

I just got back to Collegenet from a week break and was greeted with the forum that we can only win $10,000 total...

While I understand this and can definitely understand why this rule was applied.... I can't wrap my head around it.

I won't be able to get through school in all honesty...... But more of that later.

Maybe you guys know a bit more about it than I do?

Help....

As a student who has classes and work sprinkled throughout the day my phone is always on silent, with only the vibration notification turned on. I think this is the case with many of my fellow students as well.

I can’t afford to have the embarrassment of my phone going off during class, haha!

I can’t even remember the last time I had my phone on ringer…. Probably over the summer when I wasn’t working for a few days.

And sorry about the last post guys! I was rushing and the computer wasn't cooperating... I reposted my reply to another forum. Oops! And I thought writing my forum in word first was full-proof, haha!

While I am a bit younger than a lot of members here, I’m not sure if this pertains as significantly to me as it might to other members. I was born in the mid 90s, so I was still fairly young when that ‘era’ passed….

But here is my point. I have moved far too much to own anything from my childhood. We left Syria during the civil war, with only a suitcase each. Memoires where not a priority at the time. So anything I did own from back then is still back in my house overseas…. That is if it hasn’t been broken into and looted.

I have learned that life is short and fleeting. It isn’t worth being attached to personal items, but instead get attached to memories. Those will last forever. Material objects come and go, but what really matters is being around those who love you and bettering yourself through the process of life.

I had an amazing childhood, I was and am very fortunate to have had the life I had, and to have been given the opportunities I have been given. I remember a lot about my childhood and I think that is far more valuable than any items I may have had since I was a kid!

Good luck with the move! Moving can always be a bit hectic and stressful and definitely gets you thinking about what you really need and what is just another thing to pack and unpack!

There are a lot of things I could live without, but I suppose the purpose of the question is a little more direct and specific than that!

- Doing my make-up every day. It took me awhile to realize this, and while I love doing my make-up… I have come to accept that I don’t have to have my face all done every day. It’s not going to kill anyone and those who truly care about me accept me either way! Like Karlie, I am more comfortable in my own skin now and so I have begun to feel okay leaving the house without make-up on. Don’t get me wrong, I still love doing my make-up! In fact, I did my hair and make-up today! I think the warm weather is motivating, haha!

- Cigarettes. While I enjoy them… I know I would live without them.

- Professors sketching on my drawings. Oh man, that gets to me! I understand why they do it... but it's a little heartbreaking, haha!

Thanks for the awesome replies! I love hearing more about you guys, even in the simplest ways!

Now for my answers!

- When is the last time you ate out? Ummmm. I don't eat out much except for getting lunch with my family every other week. We went to this restaurant we hadn't tried yet in Chinatown on Sunday afternoon, it was great! I really appreciate my family taking time to drive down to see me for the afternoon and gt lunch with me!

- The last time you slept in?
Oh man... I can't even remember. Even when I have a chance to sleep in I don't... Or more like I can't. My body has gotten so used to waking up early that no matter what time I go to sleep and how long I have to sleep in, I'm usually not able to.

- The last time you attended a wedding?
Ummm. Years ago actually. I don't even remember who it was, so it was probably an old business partner of my dad's.

- The last time you hugged someone or got hugged?
Last time I hugged and got hugged was by my brother on Sunday.

- The last time you stayed up past 1 AM?
Every night, haha! So last night... Sigh. What is sleep?

- The last time you skipped work or class?
I skipped one of my classes last week. Oops.

- The last time you saw a movie in theaters?
Ummm, over the summer I believe.

- The last time you drove a car?
Winter break. I don't keep my car with me while I'm at school, I don't need it here in the city, there are so many more ways of getting around, it isn't worth having my car here and increasing the risk of it getting stolen or broken into. Plus, my brother uses the car more than I do.

- The last time you went swimming?
Over the summer.

- The last time you where out of your home state?
About a month ago I believe.

You have a very sweet husband, he’s a keeper, haha!

Sometimes it’s the little things that people do to show they care that make your day the brightest. At least for me it is…

This week so far (It’s only Tuesday morning… wow.) has been rough so far. I’ve been a bit of a grump… I’m honestly VERY strung out, burnt out and just generally stressed and tired. I’ve been working about 9 hour days every day, sometimes more…. I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me as well. The Manchild has been a little MIA for the past couple days… He’s visiting a friend and doesn’t get much reception where he’s at… Which just makes me miss him even more, even though I know I shouldn’t let it dictate how I feel entirely.

BUT I am alive. I am alive, healthy and getting by each day one at a time! I have support from my friends and family and people who care about me. The weather has been getting better and the sun has been peeking out.

I feel that a lot of times my day can be set on the tone it starts off with, but is also subject to change really easily. It all just depends on how I take it and my emotional state in a sense as well.

Sometimes I wish I allowed myself to dictate how my day was going to go, instead of allowing everything else to influence how I feel and the tone of my day… At least to tone it down to a certain degree.

Dreamland sounds great. I need some extensive sleep right now. Sigh.

This forum is inspired by Joyce's 'One Liner' forum! It got me thinking about the last times I did a whole bunch of things!

- When is the last time you ate out?
- The last time you slept in?
- The last time you attended a wedding?
- The last time you hugged someone or got hugged?
- The last time you stayed up past 1 AM?
- The last time you skipped work or class?
- The last time you saw a movie in theaters?
- The last time you drove a car?
- The last time you went swimming?
- The last time you where out of your home state?

Feel free to add a 'last time' of your own as well! Expand the list!

Thank you and may the votes be with you!

Oh man. As terrible as this may sound... I WISH I could remember the last time I spent an entire day doing nothing.

It isn't in my nature to just spend a whole day not doing anything at all. Even on days I have kind of a break and not anything pressing to do, I still get on Collegenet, and usually go get errands done, clean or cook.

A day spent just napping and watching Netflix and being a couch potato sounds wonderful honestly.... I wish I had that luxury every now and then!

I think the last time I really did nothing all day was during Spring Break when I went to see the Manchild for a weekend... It is very likely we spent an entire day hanging out int he basement and watching TV and just being the goofs we are.
