What was your favorite childhood bedtime story?

Good morning to all you C-netters,

The only thing I can think of is Green Eggs and Ham. But I also remember my kids bedtime stories and that was The Little engine that could. To this day I still have that book.

    Have a great day!

    Hey JeneluRose and all!

I always liked The Three Bears. My parents would read this in a unique way. They named the bears after each of us kids, which at that time I was the youngest. My eldest sister was Mama bear, but the bear would be known as Anne (my sister), and daddy bear was known as Lawrence (my brother) and I was baby bear. My mom always said I wanted to hear this story over and over again. It got to a point where my mom wished she did not personalize it for us. LOL!

So, The Three Bears it is!

    Hey Jenelu! :)

I always like "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"...and really any books by Eric Carle. The pictures are very vivid and look like they've been cut out from paper.

There's also a series by Laura Numeroff that begins with "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" which has the most adorable story of a domino effect from offering a mouse a cookie. I think the sequel is called "If You Give a Moose a Muffin"...

    Have a good day :)

    Hey Jenelu,

My favorite book when I was little was a book called "The little Red Car". I absolutely loved that book because it would have the parents make the sound effects when they would read it and it would make me laugh. I actually still have the book that my parents would read me and am saving it for when I have kids some day. Some other favorites of mine are similar to Regina's such as If you give a Mouse a Cookie, and Where the wild things are. I loved those books when I was little because they were entertaining. I still catch myself laughing at some of the humor in them because it's cheesy and cute.

    Have a great day!

I don't remember having a specific favorite but I do remember my favorite times of years for bedtime stories were the holiday's. My mom would bring out these special baskets of books that were about that holiday and we could read them usually within a few weeks or a month of the holiday.

It was so great to get that special treat and really made me look forward to reading.
