    Under Pressure

    Hey CNet!

Do you work well under pressure, or do you tend to break?

I can work under pressure, but I do a much better job when I can take my time.

    Thanks for reading!

    Re: Under Pressure

    Hey Anna,

I can't work under pressure because I start getting anxieties and make so much mistakes since I'm under lots of pressure.

Like you, I really love taking my time and not being so pressured. I'll try to stay calm during pressure because many situations can occur and I want to make sure that I'm well prepared.

    Hey Anna!

I work pretty well under pressure! I remember last quarter I was struggling in my classes. I thought I was not going to make it to be honest. But all that anxiety and pressure helped me work harder towards my assignments. I ended up with a really great grade when i did my finals. I was just soo so happy about it. I think little pressure gives everyone some motivation. It is hard for people like Unique has mentioned we can't control our anxiety and it gets worse which makes us useless basically. It hurts us more than it helps. Anxiety is a very hard thing to control.

    Thanks
    Have a wonderful Night!!

    Re: Under Pressure

    Hi Anna!

I agree that taking our time can help us think more critically about the assignments on hand, giving us the opportunity to explore the depth of the topic and come to a more justified response as we think of new possibilities and solutions that time constraints would not avail.

I think I might be one of those who works more effectively with a fire under me. Pressure to get it done eliminates time wasting, or making corrections to areas that don't correcting (my personal fault in essay writing). I have ADD and too much time makes my mind travel. Shortening the time to the point where a deadline may seem impossible challenges me to complete the project as if it were a race to the finish line. Luckily, I type extremely fast with little errors so if I have to write a long essay, the typing portion only takes a few minutes. It's the writing and rewriting of the introduction paragraph I need to work on!

Great forum topic, I like seeing the different perspectives of everyone that shows the benefits of all wavelengths!

    Re: Under Pressure

    Hey Anna,

I do work well under pressure, but I don't prefer it. I don't like carrying unwanted stress around when I don't need to, so I am a very planned person. I have one of my architectural licensing exams tomorrow morning and I know I will be feeling the pressure to pass, but I also know that I prepared well and I do feel ready to take it and pass! It's all about positive thinking right?

    Re: Under Pressure

    Hi Anna!

Like you I can work under pressure but I prefer not to and I think I do better work when I am not under pressure. When I am under pressure I feel I may forget something important.

    Have an awesome day!

    Sincerely,

    Karen

    Re: Under Pressure

Hi! I think I work well under pressure. I've produced some pretty good essays and homework when on a time crunch. I should probably do things ahead of time if possible.

    Re: Under Pressure

Sometimes I have to be under pressure for the work to get done! Even though I know I may do a better job if I start sooner and take my time.

    Re: Under Pressure

Hi! I can work under pressure (now I’m thinking of the Queen song :D), although it depends on what I’m doing. If I’m doing schoolwork, then I can work well under pressure (e.g. closely approaching deadlines) because I generally know what I’m doing. I did work at a snack shack one summer though, and when it got busy when I first started I really had trouble keeping up. Basically, I work well under pressure only if I’m confident in what I’m doing.
