    Do you settle-in reationships, jobs,etc.?

    Hey everyone,

So I was wondering how common it is "to settle" as we get older.

Do you find you settle in a relationship as you get older or just comfortable? I guess there is a belief for some that maybe if you don't you will end up alone or not find anyone else better.

I guess the same belief holds true for some when it comes to a job...what do you think?

Is it really just common practice that we "settle in" some aspect of our lives?

I like to think that for the most part I haven't really settled but I guess one area for me may be that I have "settled" for living in an apartment as opposed to buying a house.

So how about you guys, what are your thoughts?

Looking forward to reading your responses!

    Thanks!

    Kathy

    Hello!

Definitely an interesting and relevant post.

I think "settling" is a normal part of getting older -- certainly in my life I am less idealistic and am growing more flexible in my expectation as I get older. As we age, we tend to accept less risks and unknowns and instead, we prioritize stability.
Right now I'm in an awkward stage in my late twenties where I'm moving from a more creative, risk-taking mindset and into a mindset that seeks financial and communal security.

    Cheers,
