    Bathing. Morning or at bedtime?

    Hey everyone,

Do you shower/bathe before bedtime or when you get up in the morning? I shower at night before bed....I like to go to bed clean and it gives me more time in the morning.

    Have a great day!

Both, depending on what you're doing or if you have time. But I personally like showers in the morning. I feel refreshed all day and clean

Re: Bathing. Morning or at bedtime?

    Hey Sage,

Showering at night is definitely more relaxing and provides more time in he morning but I really enjoy getting clean in the morning because my hair looks more tame when it’s freshly washed!

    Thanks,
    Bella

    Hey Sage!

I am a strong advocate for showering in the morning. There are a few reasons for this. The first one is that I get kind of oily and smelly throughout the night, so showering in the morning cleans me off and makes me ready for the day. I understand showering at night to be clean for bed, but I'll gross in the morning anyway. Another reason is that my hair is a disaster. Even though I have short hair, it takes over my life and gives me major bedhead in the morning. The only way to fix my bedhead is to get in the shower. There is literally no other way to fix it. The final reason for showering in the morning is that it wakes me up. A nice long warm shower is what wakes me up in the morning, not caffeine or my alarm clock. I'm ready for the day the second I get out of that shower.

But it also depends. If I workout at night, then I definitely shower before bed. Because the thought of getting into my bed when I'm all sweaty and gross really freaks me out hahaha

So I can see the argument for both sides

    (:
Hope you have a great Friday!

Re: Bathing. Morning or at bedtime?

    Hi everyone!

I prefer to shower at night before going to bed. I like having the additional time in the morning to sleep a little longer or just to take my time getting dressed.

Re: Bathing. Morning or at bedtime?

Most of the time I shower at night just because that seems to fit into my schedule a little bit better. Plus I sort of got into the habit when I was younger because we only had one good shower and 4 people had to take turns and we sometimes ran out of hot water so we split up into kids at night, parents in the morning.

Also it takes about an hour to dry and straighten my hair and I am NOT a morning person, lol!

    Kasey,

I’m the same way! I have thick hair and it takes forever to dry. I’m curious how it will be in my dorm next year.

Re: Bathing. Morning or at bedtime?

    Sagealissa,

I'd rather shower in the morning because it wakes me up but I'm always afraid I may not wake up early enough to shower so I shower in the evening just to be safe. I do sometimes shower twice in one day but it just really depends on my exercise schedule.

Re: Bathing. Morning or at bedtime?

My work day starts so early that I don't really have a choice. I know that if I got up at 4 AM I could probably fit in a shower but, guess what? That's not happening. So I wind up showering right before bed, jumping into bed before my hair is completely dry and then, the next morning, sticking my head under the faucet so it looks as though I just showered. Don't know if I've fooled anyone. But that's male privilege for you - my hair is short enough that I can get away with neglecting it. If I had crazy long hair like some women do, I probably wouldn't try it.

Re: Bathing. Morning or at bedtime?

I almost always shower at night unless I have a compelling reason to shower in the morning. I only wash my hair once a week, and I let it dry naturally, so it's pretty low maintenance even though it's very long, so that's not a big deal. My work is pretty disgusting sometimes and I'd much rather be squeaky clean to chill at home and then to go to bed, instead of being squeaky clean to go to work and get dirty in two seconds. Lol.

Re: Bathing. Morning or at bedtime?

I like showering in the morning, wakes me up & makes me feel good.
Just googled bathing habits around the world and come to find out America stinks (literally!!)

Re: Bathing. Morning or at bedtime?

    Hello,

I bathe in the evening. When I have finished all my business and did excessive a shower before I begin to rest is a great part of the day !

    Hi Sage!

I will confess, I don't shower every day. But when I do, I shower all times of the day. I have a variable work schedule so it depends on what time I work. I have curly hair so I don't blow dry it and I can't go to bed with wet hair, so i usually don't shower at night.

Re: Bathing. Morning or at bedtime?

    Hi sage,

I usually take a shower after I go to the gym. In high school when I did sports i would shower once in the morning and once after I was finished playing sports and getting sweaty. Now I tend to only shower after I work out, unless I just have an urge to take a shower just because it feels really good!

Re: Bathing. Morning or at bedtime?

I am so passionate about this!! And def on your side of the fence!

I ~hate~ going to bed without showering. I feel like I'm tracking all the dirt, germs, and grime from NYC into bed with me every night if I don't shower beforehand.
I protect my bed like a shrine :p

Plus, it gives me a head-start in the morning as you mentioned, Alissa.

Re: Bathing. Morning or at bedtime?

    Hi Sage!

I agree with you. I shower at night because I feel like if I showered in the morning, I would just be dirty and wouldn't feel comfortable going to bed. Yet, I don't shower everyday so for the days I don't shower, I at least rinse so I can take off all the dirt and can go to bed clean.

Re: Bathing. Morning or at bedtime?

I always would select the nighttime. I workout regularly after work and I can't get into bed if I'm sweaty and feel gross! lol
