    How do you do a mental reset?

    How do you do a mental reset when you're stressed?

    Do you veg out on the couch and watch TV? Do you work out? Go for a walk?

    I like to go for a walk with my cat. It is always so relaxing and takes my mind off of my day. It reminds me of the simple pleasures in life: a beautiful forest and a being that I love. It makes me feel happy and makes alll my other worries irrelevant.

    This is pretty relevant considering classes are back in session for many people and/or returning to work after the long holiday break! I like to get my body moving to reset, whether it means going for a walk or going to yoga for an hour. Sometimes it means just getting up early to give myself time to set an intention for the day.

    Earlier this morning, my roommates cat tore a hole in my new leggings, which put me in a pretty sour mood, just before class. I didn't want to be in a bad mood though so I looked up some "good mood" songs and danced, as much as one can dance, in my car on the way to class.

    It totally helped me find my center again!

    Hey!

    Something that really helps me is to do stretches. Even if it's just for a few minutes, I feel so much better afterwards!

    Walks are super helpful for me as well!

    When I'm feeling stressed, I would watching some of my favorite shows/movies, read my favorite books, and order some delicious pizza which I truly enjoy.

    I usually veg out and relax if I'm stressed. It helps me get distracted from what I actually have to do, which in turn, makes me not stressed. In situations when I'm feeling really groggy and tired, I usually do some form of exercise to wake me up!

    A mental reset action that I do to relieve stress is reading. My wife dislikes my library because it takes up space and I continue to appear with new and used books all the time. I love to read, if i focus on reading it helps me shift my focus and I get to learn something new. Another thing that helps me is working out. I recently cancelled my gym subscription and workout in my back yard now, best investment I have ever made. I can workout anytime and also do not have to drive to a location. I actually work out more now and I shift my focus on working out and forgetting about the rest. Another thing that I used to do was take long walks or hike. I am thinking about taking up rock climbing next in the near future. I think the more distractions, the best it works and helps with stress.

    I do a mental reset by either taking a walk, working out, doing something musical, doing something artistic, or meditation. I love doing these things because I can reflect on how I'm feeling, observe those feelings, and then let them go when I'm ready to. I find I am much calmer and can approach life with a more level head when I use these mental resets.

    Also, I go to my church whenever I can. It helps me reset because I am able to be in a community and space where I get a little insight about my life and the energy there is always refreshing and cleansing.

    I take a very long nap. I have to get up early for school and I am a night owl so I never get enough sleep. By the time I get home from school, I am wiped out both mentally and physically. A nap powers me up to finish out the day.

    I find the best ways to mental reset for me are meditating or taking a nap. With mediating I can get my mind off of what is stressing me and get myself to be relaxed. And with sleep, I think it is a really easy way to get away from reality and I almost always feel better when I wake up.

    Hi everyone!

    I do a mental reset by reading a good book or playing one of my favorite video games. Sometimes you have to take a few minutes out of your hectic schedule to simply do the things that you enjoy.

    I do a mental reset by increasing my mindfulness, through music, laughing, refreshing conversation, creating a gratitude list, or a nice walk. These are some things that I love doing, and I always feel much better after doing these activities.

    The gym I attend also has a swimming pool, sauna ans whirlpool. When I am feeling stressed I go swimming and this helps me to relax and find balance. Thanks for the forum and have a fabulous day.
