    Craigslist Credibility

    Hi everyone, Selina here!

How trustworthy do you feel the people on craigslist are? Is there more good people that are trying to make a honest trade or more sketchy people trying to scam others?

I'm not really sure because I never used craigslist but I know a few people who have and it seems no one has been scammed. So I feel like through my friend's experiences, there is probably more good than bad on craigslist.

Thank you for reading and watching this post, have a great day!

I would say most people are just trying to get rid of their unused items, but always be cautious. Especially when buying something expensive, make sure to email them first and make sure they aren't being shady.

I've used it once to buy a dresser for my apt. It was a quick and easy procedure, the woman was pleasant and already took apart the dresser for us. I went with my boyfriend, but it I was to buy something alone I would do it at the police station. I'd be extra cautious of very expensive items because you never know.

    Hi Selina,

It is the same with OfferUp and LetGo. You must be weary of expensive objects and electronics, but it isn't a futile effort because most people are nice and perfectly trustworthy people for this type of exchange. I've sold a few things on OfferUP, LetGo, and Craigslist and I've always been fortunate enough to not have too many flaky people and trustworthy items bought. If you are particularly worried, bring a friend who is knowledgeable in whatever product you're buying and also for safety. Buddy system always works well. Also, let someone know who is close by where you are going and what you are doing so if they don't hear back from you for a week, they know something is wrong.

    Good luck!

    Hi Selina

I think there's always a risk of sketchy people on the internet. But in general I feel like there are more good people in the world than bad people. That carries across for craigslist too. I feel like it's best to contact people on multiple sites so you know they're real. Hopefully you don't get scammed much!

    Re: Craigslist Credibility

    Hey Selina,

I use Craigslist, OfferUp, LetGo, and Facebook Marketplace pretty regularly. My husband and I have a hobby of flipping furniture. We find it, flip it, and list it to sell on these aforementioned sites.

I think that they are safe, but we have rules in place now that we've been doing this for a few months (because like anywhere, there can be sketchy people and bad things can happen). We typically go together to meet someone, but if we can't, we meet at a public location where we know there will be other people around to complete the transaction. We also meet during daytime hours and not at night.

I've been using these sites for a while now and I've been happy with how it's worked out. I like having the opportunity to sell things easily and on my own terms. It's pretty cool we have these opportunities, it's just important to be safe and be smart while using these sites. It's a win-win because you can sell your stuff and make money, and the buyer is typically saving a lot of money by purchasing using one of these sites than going to a big name store. I love it.

Thanks so much for the post! Have a great day!

    Re: Craigslist Credibility

    Hi Blaze4days!

I have had good luck with craigslist for the most part! I only had one sketchy encounter, and that was it! The guy drove to my house late in the evening, sat in his car with a buddy outside my house, then texted me. He said "bring out the Ps4 to the car, I am in a hurry and cant come inside". I said no and he said "dont be a pussy" and called me a bunch of other names. I went outside and told him that if I wanted to buy my Ps4 he would have to come up to the house and do the exchange! He said in his car with his buddy as he continued to smoke a large marijuana cigar, then drove away and continued to rant at me over text message.

That was a bad experience, I generally dont have people meet at my house anymore if I dont have to.
