    Hey,

I think babysitting is easy. The main thing to remember is learn how to control the children your watching and don't let them control you. See kids are smart... Even babies... If they can sense that they can run over you, they will. Create a schedule for the entire day or evening so that everyone can stay somewhat organized. I have been working around children my whole life and I think its ok. Not all kids are angels but not all adults are grown up lol

Re: Is babysitting hard or easy?

I think babysitting is easy as long as you enjoy being around kids. If you have to babysit for a long period of time it sometimes can become a little harder especially putting the kids to bed, but overall it's pretty easy.

    Hey Frh,

Babysitting can be interesting at times ha ha. I had one kid run off on me because he saw his friend that lived in a house next to where we were walking and it scared me so much! Usually it's easier just to do activities at home such as puzzles, board games, or just doing fun stuff outside like playing soccer. The hardest part honestly is just trying to keep them entertained without them trying to figure out what they can pull over on you. Kids can be very sneaky sometimes and will try to get away with things that they aren't supposed to when their parents aren't around.

    Have a great day!

    Hey all,

I really think that this question is synonymous with how patient a person are you? Or maybe how good are you with kids?

Well, the main thing is the knack of getting kids to do the stuff they are supposed but at the same time keep them happy. This can be achieved by building a rapport with them first. For that one needs to earn their trust and be like one of them and think like them. Then babysitting will be a piece of cake.

    Hey,

I always babysit my niece and nephew. It is usually a lot of work, especially keeping up with toddlers when you're wheelchair bound, but it is usually worth it. I like hanging out with them, but changing diapers suck. Lol

Re: Is babysitting hard or easy?

I think babysitting is hard. You have to be on your toes all day. And, if you make a mistake, someone could die.

My husband always tries to volunteer my daughter as a babysitter to our friends. I have told him over and over, no way. Let her work at the movie theater or something. I don't want her doing a job with such high stakes. I am not sure why we have decided that young teenagers are equip to do this work. Geez, if I don't like her using the lawnmower, why in the world would I want her taking care of children?

I believe that when you first meet the kids or for the first hour of watching over family or friends, will be a little difficult because this is when everyone is sort of "feeling each other out." After that it becomes fun, and hopefully, enjoyable for everyone, until it's time to go to bed. Of course this is just my experience, and everyone is different.

    Have a good day everybody!

Babysitting is my job. I find it easy, but exhausting. I love kids. It does have moments when it is hard. But I grew up with five other siblings, so I am use to chaos. I started keeping kids when I was 16 - right now I keep a newborn and three year old three days a week all day long. Ive had my fair share of up and downs. I take the kids with me on errands, out to eat, to the playground, or just staying at home. I am BLS certified and update it when it needs to be. I have almost had to use life saving techniques once out of the 9 years I have been doing it - the little boy was playing in the bathtub on his tummy and sloshing the water around, he got some in his mouth and started choking. It was terrifying, but I knew exactly what to do. And it scared him and he doesn't do it anymore. I have also had a kid running down the hill and fall, scrapping up his chin and lips really bad, luckily I do well under pressure and handled it fine. I am passionate about kids, and I think if you are and can be fun for them/think like them, then babysitting is easy!
