Issues You Have at Work with your boss

    Hey CNet,

Quick Question: Is it worth working for someone who can teach you a lot, but doesn't respect you?

    Good morning everyone,

I don't think that it is worth it to work for anyone who doesn't respect you. If they don't respect you please tell me how you know for sure that they are teaching you the rights that you kneed to know? Respecting others and being respected is a must, it is a virtue, it shouldn't come at a price of loosing your dignity. Have a good day.

I recently had to ask myself this same question and finally, I came to the personal conclusion that no amount of disrespect, especially in a work environment. If your employer does not respect you, no matter how much knowledge you may obtain from them... will on do so much for you in the long run. Consider your mental health. Does it bother you that the person you are working for doesn't respect you? How do you feel when you go home at night? Do you still look forward to going to work knowing that person is going to be there? Is your job worth it?

After considering these questions then you should determine if you are going to maintain your position or branch out for newer opportunities.

    Some exceptions.... Remember Karate Kid?

    Hey all,

I believe that one's dignity is as important as learning. If you lose self respect, all that you learn will not help you as you may not be able to put that to use in a place where you need to lead a few people and that is why you need to be able to work in a place where you are respected.

But there can be exceptions like in martial arts, where the teachers or your boss may not explicitly show the respect they have for you.

    Cheers,

Although everyone at my job, Server @ local Indo-Chinese Restaurant, respects me for who I am and the amount of work I do, as well as how much try helping everyone else, my boss out of all people is complete ignorant ape. I won't continue because I don't want to anger myself this early in the morning.
