    Introvert or extrovert?

Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
I think at this point in my life I fall somewhere in between, I use to be very introverted, it is just the way that my personality is. But I have made a conscious decision to be more open to people and to put my out there.

So where do you stand and why?

    Re: Introvert or extrovert?

I have been and probably always will be an extravert. I love meeting new people and enjoying conversation with many people at one time.

However, as I have gotten older I find myself not liking loud and huge crowds when out on the town. I prefer the chill spots with an easy vibe.

    Re: Introvert or extrovert?

    Hi Skywordsee,

I am a big introvert. I enjoy being with people and enjoy conversations, but usually with people I know. I am a little shy when it comes to starting conversations with random people but will happily engage in one if the person infront me of me started it.

I enjoy small groups and one on one conversations a lot more than parties and big crowds.

I wish I can be a little more extroverted, but for now this is my personality:)

Have a nice rest of the day!
    Peace

    Re: Introvert or extrovert?

Thank you both for responding. ^_^

@TheCrimsonActuary it's interesting how people that were once extroverts grow to kind of prefer the quieter scene or the quieter life to speak. I wonder if that's how it's becoming with me how I felt like I was definitely an introvert but now I'm putting myself out there and transitioning to be more of an extrovert as I get older.

@Peacelover. Hi peace! Yes, we are who we are, and our personalities are definitely a gift to the world lol. I definitely had to make a conscious decision to not just keep to myself and my circle of friends

    Re: Introvert or extrovert?

    Hi skywordsee,

I'm an introvert who likes to be around people. I definitely need time to myself, but when I've had my fill of that I like hanging out with people. I think that's why I like swing dancing, because when I dance I'm surrounded by people but don't usually have the pressure of trying to make awkward conversation. I do love hanging out with people, though!

    Re: Introvert or extrovert?

    Hello

I am for sure an introvert. I tend to be ambiguous about things, but my personality does not sway toward the extrovert side at all. I think my anxiety has a lot to do with me being an introvert. I can hold conversations without being awkward, but it does not make me feel really happy and bubbly inside to talk to people I don't know. I make sure to always make people feel welcome because I don't like the feeling of being unwelcomed, but I'm not the overjoyous bubbly girl that'll invite you to my room for happy times and tea. I tend to talk a lot with people that I'm comfortable with and have known for a while, but I seem quiet to those who I don't know. I have been trying to overcome my anxiety, so recently I've been putting myself out there more than normal.

    Re: Introvert or extrovert?

I always considered myself an introvert until I recently started a new job. I work with brunch of actuaries and, man are they introverts. I am downright charming compared to my new coworkers :)

    Re: Introvert or extrovert?

I'm a total introvert, sometimes to a fault.

I'm just so anxious and awkward around people that sometimes it's tough for me to open up. That being said, however, I do work as a hockey coach, coaching up and down the east coast and some of the west coast so I have to meet and talk to A LOT of people and when I'm in those situations I'm very personable and easy to talk to, basically a picture perfect extrovert. But, that being said, it's so physically and socially exhausting to have to interact with all of those people, some who are really really hard to talk to, that when I get home or back to school I'm just so against talking to new people that I tend to sometimes even be a little too anti social. So all in all, I'm an introvert who is sometimes put into situations where I have to be an extrovert but I'm definitely working towards being a more social person in more situations.

    Re: Introvert or extrovert?

I am an introvert, no question. I like my alone time, social interaction is physically and mentally draining, and I am really anxious about large or even medium sized social events. I can suck it up and deal with them if I have to, which most of the time I do, but I would rather avoid them.

    Re: Introvert or extrovert?

    Hi Temi,

I am the same. I used to be very introverted when i was younger. In the past few years, especially this one, I have pushed myself to socialize more and I see the benefits of that. I still enjoy time to myself, but I feel good about going out and talking to others. My aim is not to be an extrovert, but to achieve a balance that feels right for me.
