How am I supposed to feel?

    Hi everyone,
Received some news on last night that I actually wasn't ready for at all, as I have stated before in one of my forums about my mom sickness, well my eldest brother was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis. I don't know how to feel because when being strong is your only option you learn to be just that.

Re: How am I supposed to feel?

    Hi, lphillips.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother!! I have 5 brothers and they are my world!! I remember when my oldest brother got shot... I literally couldn't breathe for about 2 hours.. I hyperventilated and tried to walk outside and calm down.. And when my mother had bronchitis and strep throat at the same time, but they couldn't figure that out, so she laid in bed for about a month.. She was shivering and sweating and she couldn't move her body at all.. She wouldn't eat and I had to bathe her, but I knew she'd get better..

I can't imagine having to deal with family members so close being sick indefinitely. But you're right.. you have to be strong.. for them.. and they will need all the help they can get. It will be hard, but consider it a blessing that you are healthy enough to help them. I heard things like natural herbs and yoga may help to alleviate some of the symptoms of sarcoidosis. Try that.. and, of course, your brother will have to watch what he eats...

I wish you well and will be praying for your family..

    Hi there,

I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. It happened very recently, so it's a lot to take in right now. I know it's easier said than done, but please be strong for him and your family. I think with each day it gets a little easier. Just focus on doing what you can to be there for him and give him what he needs. In spite of the situation, seeing him happy will make things a little better. Also make sure not to neglect yourself. It's easy to do when you're worried about someone else. I wish you and your family nothing but the best.
