How do you feel about tattoos?

Growing up in the hardcore and arts scene I've always loved tattoos and I think they used to be considered pretty taboo in American society but they're growing in popularity and becoming more and more acceptable. I love tattoos and I'm working on covering myself in them even though my parents are a bit old school and still think they're taboo.
How do you feel? Do you have any? Did your parents hate it?

Re: How do you feel about tattoos?

I personally, dont think I would ever get a tattoo because I'm scared of needles. As for my parents, my dad thinks tattoos are pretty cool, as long as they mean something. But, my mom thinks that tattoos arent a good idea to get.

Re: How do you feel about tattoos?

I like tattoos as long as there is a story or meaning behind it, not just some random idea. I have two tattoos and one of them i absolutely love but the other I would change it a bit if I could. If you're gonna get a tattoo, definitely think it through and be as sure about it as possible!

"I would never put a bumper sticker on a Ferrari!"

I don't have any tattoos. Personally, I struggle to envision that I could make a change like that to my body that would be so permanent. A second conflict that I have is that the only tattoos I really like are very large, shoulder-to-upperarm-to-upper chest, which is a serious commitment.

My parents take a very deep approach to it. "Why do you want to have a tattoo?" Is it because you don't think your handsome without it? Are you doing it to make a statement? Are you trying to change who you are to please others?

(P.S. - I would do solid black, much easier to match with clothes.)

I have a couple of tattoos and when done right by professionals tattoos are a form of art. There are beautiful pictures adorning the bodies of people all over the world-so it is like a traveling art museum. I have the most beautiful picture of Jesus on my left calf and am proud to show it off-the man who did the tattoo had over 30 years experience and I have yet to see another similar tattoo done as well. I say go for it-our body can be art and I say feel free to experience all life has given us.

    hi hi!

I have 3 tattoos and they are all writings in different languages. That's my thing - if I get a tattoo it's only black and only words. I like it that way. I got my first tattoo when I was 18 years old, and I was waiting for that day to turn that old so I could legally go and get one. I didn't tell anyone, just went and got it on my neck. Mom was cool with it, and dad just knocked on his head couple of times to show me that I have nothing in there haha.
I think sleeves are cool, but when people cover all of the skin leaving only their face uncovered, then I'm not a big fan.

    Talk later!

I love tattoos. I have 5 so far and looking forward to getting more done. I try to stay away from normal cliches and draw up my own. I only go to reputable artists with excellent reviews. If I am impressed with the work, I will become a loyal customer and come back time after time. I like my artist because everything is cleaned with a hospital-grade cleaner which kills any blood-borne pathogen within three seconds. The needles are pre-sterilized and he opens the needle packaging right in front of the customer before using them. His business does not reuse the needles, which he properly disposes of them. In keeping with their family-oriented business, Primo Ink offers a 20 percent discount on any memorial tattoos. Troy said he will not do any racist or gang tattoos. The environment is brightly lit, clean, and friendly service.

I have 2 so far and might get another one in the future. I like tattoos and like when people have a really nice meaning behind them. Or even just when people came up with a really nice design lol. I like the idea that people are free to do whatever they want with what goes on their bodies and just be creative and express themselves - even if not everyones tattoos turn out like they thought they would or they turn out regretting them haha. Its still a personal story you get to tell!
