    How do you stay in shape?

    I woke up feeling achy all around my shoulders and neck. I have decided that I am going to do yoga every morning and walk my dog every afternoon. This is the first day of that and I am waiting to finish posting so I can get on with it!

    What's your exercise routine?
    How do you stay active?
    Are your goals loftier than reality or are you a practical get-it-done person?

    There's a yoga studio nearby that offers community drop in classes for 6 bucks. They call it hot vinyasina (or something), but I don't really know what that means. What I do know is that it's rough, brutal, and makes me want to die.

    I began working at a gym last year in exchange for a free membership. I've been using this app called stronglifts that tells me which exercise to do, the sets and reps, and how much weight I should load onto the bars. Seriously it's been making a huge difference. I go about 3 times a week and it takes less than an hour. I like to have the gym to myself so I'm usually there around 5:30am, I hate having to share machines!

    I'm a runner so I like to run as often as I can. On days where I have some more time, I'll go to the gym and get a solid workout in.

    But lately, now that it's summer time, I've been thinking about trying a little harder to work towards that summer bod. Because I've been in summer class and working, I haven't had much time but this is my last week of classes which will free up a lot of my time. I plan to get right into working out and loosing all this jiggle! lol.

    I don't like the word diet, it feel temporary and it makes it feel like you're torturing yourself from all the things you CAN'T eat. Instead, I plan to make a change in lifestyle. I want to change my eating habits and get into a routine of healthy foods, healthy snacks and reasonably sized portions. Although exercise is very important for your body, it's only 30% of staying healthy. A lot of what we eat is the bigger cause of fat gain so I need to start there myself.

    I don't think I'm fat, in fact, i am more on the slender/athletic side. But i do want to become more lean and less flubbery if you know what I mean lol.

    Anyways, I hope you stick with your yoga! I really want to get into yoga too because I am NOT flexible lol. Keep it up! :)
