Do you track how many steps you take a day?

    Hey all!

Do you track how many steps you take a day?

    Thanks
    Have a great day!

Re: Do you track how many steps you take a day?

    Hey Nancy!

I used to be obsessed with counting my steps! I wanted to be considered an active person, so I would always check my steps throughout the day to make sure I was meeting my goal.

I guess that isn't a horrible addiction to have. I could be addicted to something very worse! Haha!

Ever since I switch to a different phone that didn't automatically check my steps, I stop checking as much. Now I check every week or so to see my progress. I am currently in a city where I don't have a car and I am forced to walk everywhere or use public transportation. On average, I think I take 8,000-10,000 steps a day!

I love walking so it is a wonderful feeling!

    Thanks for reading!

    Hey!

I know a lot of people who do this, but I don't think it's a good idea for me.

I'd get way too into it! It's better not to think up something for me to obsess over.

    Have a good one!

Re: Do you track how many steps you take a day?

    Hey!

No, I don't keep track. I don't have time to be fit anymore. I am lacking on that which is very sad but I really can not find the time to do so because I am always up anyways.

    Thanks
    Have a great day!

Re: Do you track how many steps you take a day?

I generally dont think about steps/miles or anything, I run every day, but I just estimate how far I've gone, I never think much more of it.

    Thanks

Re: Do you track how many steps you take a day?

    Hey Nancy,

I don't track steps (although I think my watch does), but I know it's a 1/2 mile walk to work from my parking lot and back everyday. And I always take the 5 flights of stairs up and down, and use the stairs during the day if I can help it.

Apparently, I walked 7,197 steps today. Maybe I can get in an extra few thousand tomorrow and make it to 10k! Generally, I just try to keep moving :)

    Have a good one!

Re: Do you track how many steps you take a day?

    Hello Nancy!

I do keep my track of my steps every day with my watch! I try to reach 10,000 a day but sometimes that can be difficult because you get busy and do not have enough time to work out. If you have Samsung they have a step challenge for everyone around the world. Each month the goal is to walk 200,000 steps! That can be difficult at times to reach that too! It's always a good motivation to keep my active!

    Thanks!

Re: Do you track how many steps you take a day?

    Hey Nancy,

Yes omg, I do lol. However, recently I've been told that it doesn't really do anything, but I beg to differ. Yes, the data it collects can at times be inaccurate, therefore leading to misleading health gains, but I believe that if you do it consistently it helps to motivate a healthy lifestyle. All I know is ever since I started, I've found myself going out more and wanting to beat yesterdays step count.

Re: Do you track how many steps you take a day?

    Hey Nancy,

I do keep track of my steps daily I have a Fitbit and I find it motivates me to move!

    Great topic!

    Thanks for the forum,

    Karen

Re: Do you track how many steps you take a day?

    Hey Everyone!

When the pedometers first TRENDED, I walked, speed walked, jogged, skipped, galloped and ran around literally everywhere. I was obnoxiously obsessed with outdoing my steps from the previous day. I am a recovering speed walker who enjoys the simple pace of life. That was a long way of saying, no! lol :)))
