    Starbucks, or No...

    Hello All,

So Apparently today is National Chill at Starbucks Day. What do you all think, if you had two hours to spend (either with friends or a book), would you chill at your local Starbucks or at your favorite hole-in-the-wall coffee shop?
I personally prefer smaller, homegrown types of cafes, but I know there are folks out there who swear by Starbucks.

    cheers,
    Linford

    Hello ,

Starbucks is a NO for me. I am not a coffee fan and I think the tea is just okay. I'd rather make my own at home.

    Thanks

    Hey Linford,

    Welcome to CNET!

We dont have any small cafes near by and the closest Starbuck's is a half hour away.

If I had the time and the chance though I would hill at a Starbucks for a couple of hours in a book store.

I love to read so it would be some quality time for me.

    Thanks for the forum!

    Have a good one!

    Hi there!

Nope, Starbucks is too expensive in my opinion! I prefer getting my ice coffee from Dunkin donuts or some local cafe shop. I'm living in Hawaii for the summer so there is a bunch of different ma and pa shops around here that are amazing!

    Hello.

Starbucks is the best. White chocolate mocha. yummy. I guess I will go now to get one.

    Have a good night

    Re: Starbucks, or No...

Hi, no I have never been to a Starbucks and have no plans to. For one they are too expensive, two I don't really drink coffee and third I don't generally agree with their policies.

I think Starbucks which if we are out, myself and my wife and boys would go to starbucks and hangout especially if it is Barnes and Noble.

    Re: Starbucks, or No...

    Hello,

My choice is Starbucks, although I don’t go there that much. I love their coffee, I literally try a different coffee everytime I go there. I don’t really know how to make my own coffee. Starbucks is very affordable and they make delicious coffee so it’s a yes for me.

    Re: Starbucks, or No...

Much like my dating life, I am an equal opportunist when it comes to coffee. I love all coffee. Starbucks, Coffee Bean and Tea, the local small farm Kona coffee, the coffee made your backyard. I will have it. Call me promiscuous, I don't care!

    But...

Really? National chill at Starbucks day? If that doesn't officiate our twisted obsession with big brand consumerism I don't know what does.
No chilling at Starbucks for me today or any day that makes it a thing. C'mon

    Re: Starbucks, or No...

Yeeahhhh I know if I had an international corporation, and could make it seem "cool" and "chill" I totally would soooooo nope! It's blatantly trying to give itself an image that it totally doesn't have, and their coffee is second rate compared to like 7 other places all within walking distance of my house or work, please.

I'd rather chill in the park and catch rainwater in my open mouth, left ajar at the notion Starbucks is a place for the common man to chill. Blech!

    Re: Starbucks, or No...

Thanks all for commenting -- it's interesting that there seems to be somewhat of a balance between the Starbucks fans and "other coffee shop" fans.

Totally agree Princess Manapua -- twisted obsession indeed!

    cheers,
    Linford
