How Much Do People Control You?

Do people control your decisions? How much or how often?

I've noticed more and more when I take notice to my life, how often I'll let people control my decisions. Not in a bad way, but how much I can be swayed. I don't think being influenced by other people to make decisions should be looked at all in the negative, but I am becoming more and more conscious of everyone's impact in my day to day life.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hey!

Thanks for your reply to my forum. It's really interesting that you were able to connect dye in foods to breakouts and such. Maybe I'll try cutting out all foods with food coloring!

I am similar to you. I think people control my decisions pretty easily. I can be stubborn when I feel strongly about something, but for the most part, I try to go with the flow.

    Hey,

I’ve been noticing the same occurrence in my life. If I’m not adamant about how I want to spend my day, others have more influence on what I might do and how I’ll spend my time.

I like being flexible, too though so I believe there is a balance in how much you should schedule and plan your life and how much you should go with the flow. Sometimes that will take you out of your routine a little and adds some fun to your day that you didn’t expect.

    Happy Memorial Day!

    Hey Luke,

I feel that I can be swayed if it is something like what activity the group is going to do, where to go out to eat, and things that I don't put too much importance on. However, if it is something that I feel like goes against my values, I am extremely stubborn and will not budge. I place a lot of importance on my values, so it really takes a lot for me even consider changing my mind regarding that. But if it is a fun activity or group plans, I can be pretty open minded regarding that and will go with what most people want to do/whatever makes more people happy. I'll speak up if I feel like someone isn't being heard or their viewpoint isn't being regarded. I try to be an advocate for my friends whenever I can, and can be motivated by what I think will benefit others.

    Thanks for the topic!

    Have a great day!
