    Body Modification?

    Happy Saturday CNET!

What are your feeling on body modification? Tattoos? Piercings? Any others that I'm not listing?

I think it's everyone's choice what they do to their body and I don't have a right to look down on them for it. I have tattoos and piercings and I intend to get more. They make me feel better about myself, I like the way I look now whereas I was always a little uncomfortable with my body before I started getting body mod.

I am pretty old fashioned. I don't have any moral opposition to these. We color our hair; we get fake nails; we tan.
So why not pierce and tat?

I am a bit put out when I see someone with a full body of tats or piercings. It is distracting. But once you get used to it, you can see the people behind it.

I wouldn't let my kids get any non-traditional piercings or tats. But once they got older they got them anyway.

I think the thing I always dislike the most is the permanence of tats.

    Hey there,

I do not have any tattoos and the only thing pierced on my body are my ears. I think some tattoos look really cool, they are just not for me. I have a niece who has her daughters birth dates and foot prints tattooed on her arms as a tribute to them. She also has anniversary dates of individuals she has lost over the years.

I know a few people who have had their belly buttons, noses, eyebrows and/or lips pierced and I don't really think anything of it one way or another.

I think for a lot of people I know it is a form of self expression like you said and that's very cool as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not one to judge anyone and I support individual's differences wholeheartedly as diversity is a great thing as far as I'm concerned.

    Have a good one!

    Hullo!

I think it's kind of bullshit that people are essentially denied employment or are just treated more poorly due to their tattoos or piercings. People should be allowed to experiment with their appearance, but we have these weird aesthetic standards that we try and force everybody into that don't really make much sense if you take a step back. I personally don't have any piecings or tattoos, but I probably will sometime in the future.

    All the best,
    Matt

    Hey Black Rose!!!

I finally got my ears pierced last August. My parent's were on the fence about me getting them, not because I'm a boy, but because of the sports I play. The next thing will be to get a tattoo for my upcoming 18th birthday. I really want something that represents my siblings and I which is something personal and meaningful.

I think people should do what makes them happy. We only live once, but hopefully the decisions you make with your body don't become regrets so think before you do it.

    Have a great day!
