Could You Go Out In Public Without Makeup?

    Hi Collegenet,

For you ladies here, Could you ever go out without wearing any makeup or do you have to wear makeup before leaving the house?

Guys: Does it matters if a girl wears makeup or not?

    _________________________________________________________________________________________

I've never wore makeup but I'm currently learning how to apply it to cover up dark spots, acne, and hyperpigmentation. Sometimes when the acne is way out of control, it makes it harder for me to step out the house knowing that someone will notice these big pimples around by cheeks. I started applying concealers to the dark spots but it turned out ok and i felt really confident when i hide those terrible scars. Makeup is not everything but it really does enhances our natural beauty and gives us a boose when it comes to self-esteem.

I'm not planning on learning makeup to change my whole appearance but to temporally fade those trouble areas until i am able to go to the Dermatologist and get a medical skin treatment.

    What do you think?

Thanks for reading my forum and have a great day!

Re: Could You Go Out In Public Without Makeup?

    Hey Unique!

I started wearing makeup at a really young age, I was around 11!

There was a long time that I didn't want anyone to see me without makeup because I thought they'd dislike me, but around my senior year of highschool, I had to stop wearing makeup because it would irritate my skin so much!

I still wear makeup, but mostly because I think it's fun. I like glitter and highlighter the most. I usually don't wear makeup, however, because I just can't find the time in the morning!

    Have a good one!

Re: Could You Go Out In Public Without Makeup?

    Hi Unique,

I rarely wear makeup, usually just when I'm going out, to weddings and special events, and occasionally on a daily basis to cover up discolorations and pimples. I like the look of makeup, but I don't like the unnatural cakey feel of it and know that it's not good for my skin, so I try not to wear it often. So yes, I can definitely go out of the house without makeup!

Re: Could You Go Out In Public Without Makeup?

    Hi Unique,

Yes definitely! I try not to wear make up as much on the weekends to let my skin breathe after a week of makeup every day. I'm more likely to be makeup free outside the hours of 8am to 5:30pm.

I do get self conscious about not wearing makeup, because I feel like all people see are my imperfections. When I look around at other people I realize that everyone has imperfections, and I notice lots of people around me are not wearing any makeup. It's definitely a psychological thing, but that doesn't make it any easier.

I hope you have some luck finding a good dermatologist. I could use a trip to see one myself. It's true that they really can help a lot with these situations. I have avoided going because I'm too busy, but my skin is too important to ignore.

    Good luck!

    Hey Unique!

Congrats on winning this week too! :) keep it up!! hope you will win many more. You already got my vote.

This is a very interesting forum. I did not wear makeup until I was 18. My mom wouldn’t let me wear makeup. She said it would mess up my skin and make me look older than I am. I was a good girl i listened to everything my mom said lol. So after I turened 18 i started wearing makeup and wanted to try new things. At first i was so excited because now i could wear makeup. after wearing it for few years i got board of doing it all the time. It just felt like i was wearing it to fit in with other people and look nice for others. I decided to change it and stopped wearing all that makeup. I just wear light makup now just mascara and eyeliner. My lips are already red pigmented. So i don’t need lipstick. I wear some lip balm just for them not to crack during this cold weather. So now that i am in college i wear no makeup. I am in scrubs looking like a zombie :)

    Have a blessed day!

Re: Could You Go Out In Public Without Makeup?

I usually go out in public without makeup as well. I'm slowly learning to use make up nowadays just because I feel like it's a good skill to learn and also make up looks pretty fun. Although I don't want to have to depend on makeup too often because I know the costs would build up, and I have pretty sensitive skin so I don't think it would react well to new make up products. So I'm slightly afraid of putting on make up lol. But yeah, after I learn how to apply make up better I would probably wear it more often but I would keep it light so I'm not heavily dependent on it.

Thanks for sharing! Have a good one!

Re: Could You Go Out In Public Without Makeup?

    Hello unique,

I hope you are doing well!

I never wear makeup. I do not think makeup is as important as a society and media portray. I am all for promoting natural beauty. Skin is very important to me. I wash my face constantly. Therefore I feel like I reverse all my hard work to put some pore clogging makeup on my face. My skin is getting better the more I focus on keeping it clean and using simple products. Thus, wearing makeup does not make me feel more confident when I go outside. I practice being confident in my skin because I cant wear makeup every day. It takes too much time that I don't have to spend on my face. It's more important whats in your mind than on your face!

Re: Could You Go Out In Public Without Makeup?

    Hey Unique,

I have never had an issue going out without makeup. I've never really cared enough to wear that much, usually just light eyeliner, but recently I haven't been wearing any because it's just too much work to bother putting it on just to go to work. I don't work with the public so how I look only goes as far as being and looking hygienic and makeup isn't necessary for that. I probably will start wearing more makeup once I move for college, but it isn't necessary now.

Re: Could You Go Out In Public Without Makeup?

Hi there, good to see you're experimenting with makeup - it can be so fun and also confidence boosting! If you're considering buying a new product, just search for it on YouTube. 9 times out of 10 there is a video review and a tutorial on how to use it. Youtube is how I learned to do my face! lol

I am older now, and the acne is gone but some of the scars are still around. I still wear makeup 90% of the time, but I've cut my routine and products down alooot. I've started going bare on weekends as well (very new for me!).

I like your approach of using makeup while also addressing the underlying problems causing poor skin. While I don't go to a dermatologist, I take care of my skin every day. I never go to sleep with makeup on, I exfoliate, I even use at home peels, I wear skin-healthy makeup, and I drink lots of water!

    Thanks for the post( :

Re: Could You Go Out In Public Without Makeup?

    Great forum!

I concur with all the rest of you. I started wearing makeup occasionally in 8th grade, but now I only wear it for special occasions like homecoming dance and prom, maybe a band concert or a contest. I have skin issues and don't want to make them worse, lol!

It would be interesting to hear from the guys......

Re: Could You Go Out In Public Without Makeup?

    Hello Unique!

As a guy I prefer natural beauty, but for a woman to put on make up doesn't bother me, but I do also like for them to wear more of a natural tone with that one pop of color and to not apply so much. My mother doesn't wear make up at all, she said it makes her look older then she is, and she wanted to guys to see her naturally then having make up plastered all over her face because it felt like hiding her real self.

Again I don't judge, women should do what makes them feel good about themselves, this is just what I prefer.

    Have a nice day!

Re: Could You Go Out In Public Without Makeup?

    Hi Unique!

I don't wear makeup unless it's a special event, like prom. I personally don't like it or the way it feels and I have never been good at applying it. So to answer the question I can definitely go out in public without makeup because I do everyday. At some point in middle/junior high I wore mascara for about a year but gave up on that because it wasn't worth the pain of putting it on and taking it off. I think it is better to show the world what you look like so that when people see you without makeup they don't make rude comments because I know that has happened to my friends and it really messes with self esteem. I'm not really sure why I don't care too much about my looks but I'm happy that I don't because I feel a lot better without makeup on. I hope that every female feels beautiful with or without makeup.

Re: Could You Go Out In Public Without Makeup?

Hi Unique! I can go out without make up on any day. However, I used to never be comfortable without make up. For some reason I thought I needed to wear it all the time to look good enough for society, but as I've grown up, that has changed. I spend almost all weekend without makeup unless I'm going out on the town! I think women are beautiful with or without makeup!

Re: Could You Go Out In Public Without Makeup?

Absolutely, I don't mind going out in public without makeup, I do it almost everyday right now. Who has time to do a full face of makeup and do their hair in the morning lol I applaud those that do, but I'm not one of them!
