Would you rather have more money or time?

    Hey cNet!

I've got a question for you today, would you rather have more money or more time? Let's say you could either add 10 more years to your life, or have $5,000,000... which would you choose? Why?

Can't wait to hear your answers!

    Best,

    Abby

Re: Would you rather have more money or time?

I rather have the time than the money

Re: Would you rather have more money or time?

    Hey Abby!

I would rather have the money!

If I were to die when I was 80 or 85, dying at 90 or 95 wouldn't be much of a difference in my opinion. I would still do the same things I do at 80.

    Hey Abby!

I wish I didn't want to side with the money, but I would. It would make my life so much easier that the years of my life that I did have would be much less tedious.

    Have a good one!

    hey abby,
interesting... sounds like one of those cursed monkey paw or twilight zone wishes where you say 10 yrs of life but you spend them comatose, or you say $5 million but its found money like "no country for old men" and anton chigurh is hunting you down. no thanks! maybe what i would take would be a few more hours to my day... could really get so much more done!
hope you had a good monday, K

Re: Would you rather have more money or time?

    Hey Abby,
I would have to say the money because that would allow me extra time in my life. We are so focused on paying bills and saving for a retirement. To have that extra money would be a blessing to not have to worry about money and to be able to actually live my current life to the fullest!

Having an extra 10 years may not be worth it if you had spent your life stressing about paying bills.

    Thanks,
    Morgan

Re: Would you rather have more money or time?

I would probably pick more money because there's no point living longer than everybody else lol.

I guess it would be cool if I could get a higher paying job that requires lesser working hours but makes the same amount of money had I worked more at another low paying job. I could kill two stones with that x)
And I feel like if I had more money than I would already have more time in a way since a lot of my time right now is spending at work to make money lol..

    Have a good one!

Re: Would you rather have more money or time?

    I would pick more time.

We live in a culture where there's never enough money, never enough time, never enough. Meanwhile, things are flourishing around us. I definitely want more time. More time with family, more time doing things I love, and I would absolutely love to be able to witness great-great grandbabies.

More time for sure. Money is a material thing that grows on trees. As for time, there is nothing you can do get more of it. I think that time is a beautiful thing cause if you use it wisely you can do anything with it.

    Interesting post.

Re: Would you rather have more money or time?

    Good evening,
I definitely will say time. Suddenly and without warning on September 14, 1997 I lost my father at the young age of 52. I just turned 24. I'm now 44. What I wouldn't give to extend my life out and be dirt poor, but happy and healthy...Very deep question, but I love it. I've found there are many philosophical and analytical thinkers here. It's awesome.

Re: Would you rather have more money or time?

I think that I would choose the money because if I was by chance dying, then I could use the money to get treatment and live longer. So in the end, I would have best of both worlds.

Re: Would you rather have more money or time?

    Hello,

I would defenitly take more money. I don't mind not having time. As long as I can accomplish my dreams.

Re: Would you rather have more money or time?

    Hello,

To answer this question I have to really wonder what ten additional years of my life really gets me. What's the benefit of living to 102 rather than 92? The answer I found is that the benefits are pretty nominal. Things are naturally slowing down at that point in time anyways and I would argue that your time isn't particularly well spent anymore. Whereas $5,000,000 has a tremendous impact on my life. No debt, a lovely home, a strong financial net, and greater means to support my family and community. I'll take the money please. Cash if you wouldn't mind.

Re: Would you rather have more money or time?

    Hey Abby,

So this is an interesting question and makes you think about a lot of "what ifs" My initial response is to say the time of course, however, if 10 more years of life would consist of illness, pain and sadness I wouldn't want it.

The thought of having more time with my family and friends is the most appealing part of having more time.

    Thanks for the post.

More time for sure!! life is too short

Re: Would you rather have more money or time?

Time for sure! Money can always be made, but you can never get time back.
