    Country or big city?

Are you like me who despises big cities? Being raised in a small town, my family had a huge plot of land with no neighbors for at least a mile. I love my privacy especially cause I don’t have to look decent when I take the trash out.

However I do know that big cities have their perks. For one, delivery is fast. No fast food place delivers to my house. Too far.

Which one are you a fan of ? Big cities where there’s lot of lights? Or country side towns where privacy is a huge bonus ? Just got done with softball practice. Have a great rest of your day ? :)

    Hey!

I guess I would say country! The way you described growing up is ideal for me.

That being said, I'd rather live in the big city than in the suburbs. I grew up in a suburban area and its the most depressing atmosphere in the world to me.

    Thanks for the forum!

Yes, I am just like you; because I can't stand dealing with the big cities. The traffic drives me insane with the stop and go cars, the long wait and lights, and trying to find your way around. Let alone the huge numbers of people and the higher prices. I love the country and living in a rural area. I hope to always be able to live in the country where I can have my privacy and peace with my animals, friends and family.

    Re: Country or big city?

    Hey Kathryn!

I've always lived in the rural area of a big city, but mainly surrounded by country. That's how my family lives and it's what I've been around most of my life, but I always enjoy the cities more. I've moved into the bigger city that's around me and now live right on the outskirts. It doesn't truly compare to a metropolis, but almost any of the ones I've been to I would love to own a condo or apartment for. Something about everything being within walking distance and the idea of not having to own a car for.

    Hey Katheryn!

I really hate cities with a passion, but they bring a certain kind of convenience with them. Ideally, I'd like to live in a small town in the woods that's a 30 min to one hour drive away from a largish city. I suppose I could force myself to live in one, but I'd probably hate it. At least it wouldn't be as bad as the suburbs though!

    All the best,
    Matt

    Good morning!
Country living...I want to buy land and build a house after I graduate. The way you grew up sounds ideal lol to me!

    Have a great day,

    Re: Country or big city?

    Hi KatherynM,

I think I would like to live in the big city for awhile but I am positive as I get a bit older and I am ready to settle down and get married I will choose to live in the country. I want to have a nice garden in my back yard with herbs and spices and a big back yard as well.

    Thanks for the forum!

    Re: Country or big city?

I prefer a medium-sized city. I'm from San Diego, which is smaller than LA, but bigger than a place like Albuquerque, NM, and I would say it's the perfect size. As long as you live in a relatively centralized part of town, you can get anywhere at the edge in about 15 to 20 minutes and traffic isn't too bad if you know the road pretty well.

That said, it's just easier in terms of being closer grocery stores, post offices, gyms, and whatever else people do every day. There are lots of people, but it's not so many and parking is pretty reasonable. And then there are more options in terms of having things to do or see.

    Re: Country or big city?

    Good evening Katheryn!
I love to hear from you again!

I would say I am in between, I love living out where there's no one but I also hate being so far away from everything. My desired place would be just outside of the city where I can still feel secluded but not abandoned. I am a huge outside buff and where I live now with my mom, my friends and I go out mudding back behind our houses which is super fun! Then again my dad lives in the city where everything is less than a mile away. This is nice and all but it is always so loud and there parades that happen on our street during the end of the year. If I had to choose I would definitely say the country because I couldn't stand the noise and I love the beautiful nature around my current house.

Very good question, have an amazing day!

    Re: Country or big city?

    Hi Katheryn!

I hate big cities. There are too many people and I have a fear of crowds. I have asthma, but in big cities it is almost impossible to escape cigarette smoke and the air is terrible in general. And everything just feels so cramped and loud constantly. I grew up on a farm, so I much prefer country. There is more privacy, space, quiet, fresh air, and you can actually see stars. My only complaint is the bugs. Too. Many. Bugs.

    Have a nice day :)

    Good morning,

I definitely like the country but yet close to town. It's nice and quiet.
