    Go to the dentist?

    Hi everyone,

I have a dentist appointment today (and I absolutely hate going to the dentist), so my question for today is do you go to the dentist? Do you like going? And do you actually floss, and wash your mouth with fluorine?

Lastly a bit unrelated, but if you wear a retainer do you wear it every night?

I hope you're all having a wonderful Monday!

    Much love,

    Re: Go to the dentist?

    Hey Elisa!

I've been going to the same dentist my whole life, so going is usually pretty nice! I don't love it (it's not exactly fun), but I don't mind going.

I'm lucky enough to have dental insurance. If I don't ho regularly (checkups every 6 months or so) my rate actually goes up! I also really value my teeth a lot, so I'd go regularly anyway.

I have pretty good oral hygine habits as well for the same reasons.

I do have a retainer and wear it every night! Having braces was a serious investment for my family, and I consider myself so lucky!

    Have a good one!

Hey!! I actually do like the atmosphere of the dentist, what I don't like is the toothpaste that tastes really bad, but I do enjoy when they rinse it lol. I have always wanted to have really white teeth but nothing works for me, I don't really floss or have a regimen (which is probably why) but I just get discouraged if I don't see results. I have been doing Oil pulling for over 2 years now, some people say it works, others say it doesn't. For me personally my teeth look better than before but I would still like them a little bit more whiter. I actually lost my retainer when I moved so that really sucks. Anyway, I will keep trying to look for more ways on how to make my teeth whiter.

Great topic! Hope you have a good day!!

I'm not the biggest fan of the teeth cleaning, especially the scraping part, and neither is my sister! More than once, I have accidentally been poked or scratched on the gums and there was often a little blood (while I didn't see it, I sure as heck could feel the pain and taste it!), but they've gotten better with the scrapings. I wouldn't say that I hate it, it's just that the scrapings aren't the best thing to listen to, so I'll pop in my MP3 and play music to drown out the sound that makes my stomach churn

    Hey Elisa,

I go every 6 months to get a check up just because it's good for me to go. I don't necessarily like going, but I don't hate it either. I like the clean feeling I get after I go, but I don't like getting stabbed in the gums when I go. My new dentist is pretty cool and they aren't super judgmental about everything. I've had dentists in the past just tell me things that I was like yeah ok I'll be better, but then they would just really push about it. It wasn't like awful, but you could tell they wanted you to either buy something or do better. I'm just glad that I don't have cavities or anything when I go ha ha.

    Have a great day!

    Hey Elisa,

    Thanks for your question!

I actually don't mind going to the dentist. But the problem is, it takes a lot of time for me to book and go for one appointment. For some reason I kept procrastinating. Maybe I have in my subconscious mind that everything is going to be fixed automatically.

    Thanks again

Call me weird but I love to go to the dentist since I was a kid. I brush my teeth two times a day and floss every night or if I have food stuck between my teeth. I used to be a slacker when it came to my teeth but when dentists came to my middle school and taught us about teeth, my teeth changed. I started to brush, floss, and sometimes mouthwash when I need to. I take pride in my teeth and I'm glad.

    Re: Go to the dentist?

    Hey elisa

I hate going to the dentist and it's been a struggle to actually go this past year with my insurance being on and off having to switch dentists. The first place that did my fillings was horrible and did not numb me properly. After the cleaning, they didn't let me spit! Not only that but staff was very rude.

After two appointments, I finally switched dentists to BrightNow Dental and I'm super happy with them, but keep in mind, because of my insurance being off and me already having to take two days off work to go to the previous dentist, the process to actually get all the work done I needed was almost a year! When I finally went, my wisdom teeth were digging into my cheek and my cavities had gotten worse. Not just that, but all the work the previous dentist had done had to be redone!

In total, I've had about 8 visits to the dentist this past year alone. It was horrible but I finally found a place that I'm happy with. Since my last visit, I floss like crazy, bought a new fancy toothbrush, and cavity-preventing mouthwash. I am so done with the dentist Lol.

Sorry for the rant! I hope you have a lovely day!
