In my life I have seen people struggle. I have seen people give their
all and sometimes that is not enough to escape. I have seen people
starve, I have seen poverty at its finest. The term "Get it how you
live" means to play the cards you were dealt in life and make the
best you can of it. It means to do what you need to do to survive in the
best way you know how. Some people say that this is wrong all people in
America have an equal opportunity to succede. But, is this really true?
Do we all have equal chances at life? I do not believe this is true. How
is someone who is raised by a single mother, living in poverty, has
younger siblings to care for along with yourself, forced to struggle
with school and a job to help support their family supposed to have the
same chance that a rich person who gets all their things handed to them
and is livng a luxorious life? What happens when that person has to turn
to illegal activities like selling drugs to support the family, because
lets be honest a part time job can only do so much. Should they quit
school so their siblings can have a better chance at life than they did?
I believe that some people have to go to great lenths to just survive. I
believe that people must do what they need to do to survive, they didn't
choose the life they live. They strictly survive the best they know how,
hence "Get it how you live". Society as a whole will never
understand this until they have lived a day in the life of this
struggling class who are way too often judged before their story can be told.
