Forum: My Evil Stepmother-In-Law!
Subject: Re: My Evil Stepmother-In-Law!
She is just anxious in making sure you are able to make her son happy. I am sure she doesn't want the marriage to be ruined if her son is unhappy. She figures that the best way for ur marriage to last is to make sure you can do the work around the house. I am sure this is her intention, but some people go about it in the wrong way.

She isn't evil. She has good intentions but is going about it wrong.

Forum: On the weekly menu
Subject: Re: On the weekly menu
I dont' like planning what I will eat because my tastes vary according to my mood.

I am actually a person who doesn't like scheduling things.

When I was on a budget I planned what I would buy. But it was things that could be used for more than one type of food. For example I would buy noodles. But I would buy pasta sauce and fetucinni alfredo sauce. This way, I could make either type. I would also buy mushrooms and vegetables to add to the alfredo. But I would not use them all. I would save half a container of mushrooms or veggies for use later in the week for another food. Or to just eat the veggies by themselves with a sandwich.

I can't stand eating something more than two days in a row. I don't like eating the same foods each week also. I change my diet all the time. Otherwise, I won't want to eat.

Forum: Good Guys Finish Last??!!
Subject: Re: Good Guys Finish Last??!!
Woman don't stay w/ an abusive guy because they feel loved. They think they can help the man to change for the better.
They also don't like the idea of "giving up" on something they put so much time into. they feel a duty to not give up on him or the relationship.

MY sister eventually realized that the only way she could actually help him was to leave him by himself to straighten up his act by his own self and with his own will. Also, my sister's boyfriend went and had a few discussion w/ her ex. My sister's ex is gradually accepting the fact that he needs to clean up his act, but that it won't make a difference between them. Whether my sister's ex cleans up his act or not, he knows that the relationship is at its end and will not be resumed any time in the futre.

Abusive men need to realize that women will come and stay with them, but not through love. Through obligation and fear of being alone is why women stay w/ abusive men. The women need to realize that there are good men out there who will actually love them. It is hard for them to realize this though until they actually do learn to let go of the abusive men who do not really love them.

Forum: Your Night Life?
Subject: Re: Your Night Life?
The best thing about nighttime driving where I live is that no one is on the road. There isn't much traffic so I don't have to deal w/ stop and go traffic. I get to actually drive the speed limit w/o others getting in my way.

And yes, it is quieter since the majority of the human race is sleeping. :-)

Forum: Distraction? Break?
Subject: Re: Distraction? Break?
I remember one time I was babysitting my nephew and my niece. My sister called to tell them to get a certain thing done outside which was actually a "chore". The boy sat there for a minute watching tv and then he remarked, "I am going to do it now so I can get it over with". I thought that was the best way to deal w/ something. I almost laughed at the way he said it and he is only ten yrs. old. Yet, he understands.

This is a good lesson for procrasinators. Take breaks but don't get carried away w/ them. Get ur work done so that you can have more time for doing other things. Also, it won't be constantly nagging at you in ur head.

Forum: Two true statements, One false
Subject: Two true statements, One false
We did this in one of my classes today.

I know this is a fluff piece, but I couldn't come up with anything more insightful tonight.

Here are three statements of mine, two true, one false. Figure out which is false and then post three statements of your own (two being true and one being false).

Statement 1: I like to sing
Statement 2: I am a morning person
Statement 3: my room is painted red

Guess which one is false.

Now post your own.

Forum: LOVE yourself
Subject: Re: LOVE yourself
I like to get out the house everyday.
I feel like a flower being deprived of vital nutrients if I don't get out of the house each day.

I also make time to have quiet time before I go to bed and when I wake up each day. I usually just play games on my phone or text my fiance.

But I really don't have any days dedicated to me especially. I guess I just don't need a whole day. I just need a few hours each day and I am good. :-)

Forum: Is Capitalism EVIL???
Subject: Re: Is Capitalism EVIL???
I don't know if capitalism is evil, but in my opinion all corporations are evil. Big corporations are the spawn of satan. They rule the world of business and no one can stop them. Even when the government tumbles them, the destruction is grave and is passed on to many. Many suffer from the birth and destruction of large corporations. This is why corporations are evil in my mind.

We, the people, really have no say in who our president is. I mean, the media only covers the candidates it likes. Some candidates aren't even mentioned. Not because they don't have enough suppport, but because the media doesn't like them. So, we aren't really electing the president we want. We are electing what is the best out of all the crummy choices we are given. We, the people, need a new way of electing our president. This voting system is old and antiquated and can easily be rigged. We need a new election process. This is another evil of the system that needs to be corrected.

Capitalism has its pros and cons, but it sure isn't the greatest method from all points of view. It would be nice to invent a different system of government.

Forum: What is it About 20-Somethings?
Subject: Re: What is it About 20-Somethings?
Ah man! I had a message all typed out then when I went to post it my connection disconnected.

I am not typing it out again.

But teenagers need to grow up while they are in highschool so that they won't be shocked by what the real world is after high school.

Everytime I am out late at night I see them screeching and doing dangerous tricks w/ their cars in parking lots. I am sure their parents bought the cars for them. I do not see this as adult behavior.

Yes, people are maturing at a slower rate today. Some escape this prevailent immaturity, but for most this is the prevailing trend. It is definitely something to be concerned with.

Forum: Materialistic America and You.
Subject: Materialistic America and You.
Overall it seems that people want everything and if we had access to get those things we would. I see so many people dependent on so many items. And for some people they could not go days without it and most of these people without this item find themselves blank looking for something else. There are so many occasions where I wish people would start making more personal sacrifice; we have been consuming far too many resources. And have become so dependent on materials to provide happinesses that we end up hurting ourselves and our environment when we don't have them. Society has set so many standards on what is beautiful and on what is cool and whatever the hell it has set. I know our economy depends on goods but everyone has become too materialistic. And so I ask you, how materialistic are you? Are there any personal sacrifices that you do that go unheard? Is there anything you could not live without? And what are your thoughts on those you see so attached to something?

As for me, I can live without a lot of things. I always thought it was because the living conditions I grew up in. My brother and I have shared rooms our whole lives in a small space and we didn't get what we wanted not because of income but because of my family spending money on worthless junk. My mum bought everything at thrift stores, and to be honest my house was one of those "clean house" houses. So majority of the time me and my brother grew up only getting what was needed; we never could never fit anything "extra" in.

I never fell into those sales bull or the peer pressure to have something because I knew that I never needed it. I could live without TV, Internet, phones, music, brand clothing, bed(thats because i like sleeping on the floor :]), heck and on an extreme occasion electricity. Sadly though, I could probably never part with my car; it has brought me so much liberation. Heck I bought it myself; it may not look the part but it does the job. Now The only thing now that I find myself buying are books; I love its knowledge you never lose; and seeing how the world is now, knowledge is scarce.

Seeing everyone become so consumed in there goods (I guess thats why they call them consumers) saddens me. If you don't agree with me sorry as I am just writings thoughts now. Our whole lives we work for these things; i am sure we need food, shelter, and clothing, but are the benefits greater than the costs of working? I mean how much do we really have?
Please post your thoughts
