Forum: Sign my Yearbook!
Subject: Sign my Yearbook!
Cows moo, ducks quack, I was the first to sign your crack!

I was looking through my old high school yearbooks today and thought it might be a good subject for a forum. What's the best/funniest/weirdest thing someone ever wrote in your yearbook?

A couple of mine were:
1. You put the chest in beauty...
2. You're a hooker with a heart of gold...

Don't ask me why they wrote them.

How did you find out about CollegeNet?
I found out about this site while looking for scholarships on google. For some reason, i feel like CNet found ME. Weird huh? To tell you the truth, CNet have already helped me in life like SAT's(writing), and venting all my issues and questions that was never answered. So have this website helped you in anyway also?

Forum: Do you believe in the term "Get it how you live"?
Subject: Do you believe in the term "Get it how you live"?
In my life I have seen people struggle. I have seen people give their all and sometimes that is not enough to escape. I have seen people starve, I have seen poverty at its finest. The term "Get it how you live" means to play the cards you were dealt in life and make the best you can of it. It means to do what you need to do to survive in the best way you know how. Some people say that this is wrong all people in America have an equal opportunity to succede. But, is this really true? Do we all have equal chances at life? I do not believe this is true. How is someone who is raised by a single mother, living in poverty, has younger siblings to care for along with yourself, forced to struggle with school and a job to help support their family supposed to have the same chance that a rich person who gets all their things handed to them and is livng a luxorious life? What happens when that person has to turn to illegal activities like selling drugs to support the family, because lets be honest a part time job can only do so much. Should they quit school so their siblings can have a better chance at life than they did? I believe that some people have to go to great lenths to just survive. I believe that people must do what they need to do to survive, they didn't choose the life they live. They strictly survive the best they know how, hence "Get it how you live". Society as a whole will never understand this until they have lived a day in the life of this struggling class who are way too often judged before their story can be told.

Forum: Favorite Forum of the Week?
Subject: Favorite Forum of the Week?
With Wednesday quickly approaching, I'm left reflecting on this week at Cnet. Which got me thinking about my favorite forums of the week. I think that I most appreciated misstrace's "Other scholarships to help everyone." Not only was it a very generous forum to start, but she dedicated a post a day to continuing it. BRAVO, misstrace!

Does anyone else have a favorite forum of the week? Any accolades to share with your fellow Cnetters before the election?

P.S. Keep the "sucking up" to a minimum ;)

Forum: Men & Womens' idea of... Love?
Subject: Men & Womens' idea of... Love?
On the radio as I was driving today I overheard a really interesting topic, It was on Men and Women and how they build emotional ties...
It went on to say that Women build emotional Ties thru smell, an old shirt or flowers at your grandparents house, what ever it is smells trigger an emotional response in women and thats how connect to things.
If your a girl have you ever got emotional when you smelled a familiar smell you associate with someone?
And Men build emotional ties thru sight.
Is this why we have the saying outta sight outta mind?
Do you guys think any of this has merit?

DO you think Men and Women view Love differently, if so do you think this is the main reason people cheat, get divorced or have problems?

Forum: ...Memories when you were little?...
Subject: ...Memories when you were little?...
When i was little, my parents almost never kept any physical memories of me when i was little. I only have one picture of me when i was just a baby but nothing else. I know i was loved but i feel like i wasn't loved enough. It didn't matter to me at all for a while...until my little brothers was born about 2 months ago. I noticed that my step-mom and my dad took a lot of pictures of them. We even went to take family portraits. So my question to you guys is that, did your parents keep any physical memories of you when YOU were little? If not, does that mean your parents didn't care about you as much? Please Share! =)

Did anyone here watch Barack Obama's State of the Union Address 2010? I know i did! =D
If you did watch it, did you notice any funny moments during the speech? When Obama made a couple "insults" towards the Republicans, do you think it was fair? Overall, did you enjoy the speech? Please Share! =D
