    Being Black

So yesturday I posted a forum about the adversities people face due to their shade of skin. Reading all the comments and feed back has got me think and now want to ask the question: What is being black? Is it the color of your skin? The way you act? The way you speak? The way you dress? Is it simply a way for the government to classify people with pigment in their skin? What do you think it is?

    Re: Being Black

All I know is my best friend is the shade of white that bursts into flames when she steps outside and her dad is half black half native american and she identifies as both as well as white/Caucasian. It's all relative you see, as is most things in life. It's whoever a person wants it to be or what they want to identify as.

Now, if you consider black to be a category of "race" then yes it is a social/cultural concept invented by old white men to keep control. (sounds a little conspiracy theory I know haha) but the concept of race is not backed by any evidence in biology/genetics. :)
