One of my classes this semester is etnic relations ( a sociology class) and we are were faced with the question Does prejudice exist in the black community? I raised my hand to answer this question and a fellow classmate yelled out " what would you know about racism, your light skinned". I immediately thought light or dark i am still black. I still check the same box on my applications as you do. This is not the first time this has happen to me though. I have been told on multiple occasions that lighter people get treated better than darker people and that we think we are better than darker people. If anything we have it harder in life than darker people because sometimes we are " too black" to hang around white people and "too white" to hang around black people. What are you guys opinions or expierences with this subject?
