So let's pretend that just for this forum, everyone is a Christian and believes in the rapture--when all of the believers still on Earth rapture up to heaven when Jesus comes back. (This is only so that this forum can work....so please don't discuss your religious views and how you don't believe in this, think it's dumb or whatever...let's just keep this fun)

Hypothetically, if you knew the day the rapture was going to happen, but didn't know the time, what would be the last thing you would want to be doing on earth before you went up to heaven?

I'll answer. I would like to be showering, laying on the beach...or having sex (I mean, wouldn't you??)cause hey, we're not gonna be wearing earthly clothes in heaven so why not wear as few as possible to make the transition easier?? :P
Er, actually it would be fun to be in a crowd or on a plane and just suddenly go poof! and mystify everyone else. Ahh I can't decide!! haha

Okay, Sarah, I'll bite just this once.

Were there to be a rapture at a point and time I didn't know, I would LIKE to be doing something cool like skydiving or riding a roller coaster (hey, they're scary!) or being in front of a large crowd of people who would flip out when I poof. It'd be nice to say I would be doing something I hate and the rapture would save me from it.

In all reality, I would more than likely be playing video games or be at school, the two places my time is devoted to the most. Yeah, I'm not really all that cool.

Just wondering, if you WERE having sex when you poofed, do you think you'd still make the cut, seeing as how that's a sin and all? (Or at least it is in Judaism. I don't actually know about Christianity.)

Haha thanks, Alex. Those sound like fun things to be doing and definitely a good way to go during your last day on earth! But I kinda agree, while it would be awesome to be doing something exciting or exhilarating, we would most likely be doing the things in which we devote most of our time. I'm just curious to see the answers people will come up with!

And yes, haha, good question. I am actually putting my own spin on this hypothetical situation cause if I want to be having sex when it happens I'm assuming that I am married.

Yes, in Christianity, sex outside of marriage is a sin. So I'm not too sure a person having sex with someone who they are not married to would be going to heaven. God has stated his opinion quite clearly on who will not be welcome in heaven (but if they have had their sins forgiven and flee from those things they will be).

So just to make it clear to everyone reading this...if the rapture happened in the next couple of years (and I am NOT married) my answer would NOT be having sex. I am very committed to saving sex for marriage and I would not break that vow. Just wanted to clear that up. :)
Instead, I would probably answer being in a crowd or on a subway system actually...cause both would be pretty cool.

For the record, not all Christians believe in the rapture. In my religion (Presbyterian), I don't believe we even mention a rapture. Neither do the Catholics.
I know in Revelations it states that Jesus will come back, but it doesn't go into "poof"-y detail about people disappearing. There is no mention of a "rapture" per se, just a time when souls will rise from their graves, etc.

Just wanted to clear that up.

However, if I'm wrong, then that is fine too. I would like to be prepared, but no one really knows the time or place HE will come back. It would be nice if I were dreaming...and never woke up. Or perhaps after a good meal--it's not like you can eat when you die. :)
