Your Favorite Quote?
As the title says whats your favorite quote and why? How has this quote impacted your lifestyle and they way you act and think?

For me it will be a tie between two things Gandhi had said.

"Hate the sin, love the sinner"

and

"An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind"

This just really teaches me to humble myself and treat others as I want to be treated.

I look forward to all your responses!

Re: Your Favorite Quote?
I love Dr. Seuss quotes. This one is my favorite one though
"You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams." I love my boyfriend :]...

Another quote that I like comes from the book As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner. "[Words are]just a shape to fill a lack". To me it just emphasizes how meaningless words can be in some situations, and Action vs. Words.

My favorite quote is

"can't a guy buy all his friends some bagels so that they can owe him a favor so that he can get a guy who stole his comanager position fired" by Dwight from The Office

I think that is a very funny quote from my favorite character of my favorite show ever! Office forever!!!

I've got quite the inner child...

"Laughter is timeless. Imagination has no age. And dreams are forever"- Walt Disney

"You have brains in your head
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself in any direction you choose
You're on your own and you know what you know
And you'll be the one who'll decide where to go" -Dr.Seuss

However, my all time favorite...maybe...or at least one of my all time favorites:

"If things didn't change, there would be no butterflies"

I guess that one sucks if you don't like butterflies-but I love butterflies, for their beauty and their positive representation of change. People resist change, not enough people accept it and look at it in a positive manner-it is inevitable!! Embrace it!

Re: Your Favorite Quote?
My favorite quote is "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."

I really like that quote because it is very inspirational. It encourages everyone to aim for the highest goal they can because even if they do not reach that goal, they will still be among something great. You may not reach the moon every time you try, but at least you can be with the stars. :)

I also like the quote "it is amazing what can get accomplished if nobody cares who gets the credit."

This is a great quote when it comes to sports teams. If the whole team could be humble, amazing things could happen. When people get caught up in stats or wanting the credit, it takes away from the teamwork. The teams that play totally selflessly and are not worried about who gets the credit are the teams that go the farthest. It is not always the most talented teams that win games. Sometimes, it is the team with the most heart and the best teamwork.

Blelly- I love your quote by Dr. Seuss! It's so cute it gave me warm fuzzies.

My fave quote and I'm not sure where it comes from: "Life will only be as good as you make it." This has always motivated me to make life the best that it can possibly be.

"My argument against God was that the universe seemed so cruel and unjust. But how had I got this idea of just and unjust? A man does not call a line crooked unless he has some idea of a straight line. What was I comparing this universe with when I called it unjust? "- C.S. Lewis

Re: Your Favorite Quote?
My favorite quote is "the secret of success is constancy of purpose" (Benjamin Disraeli, British politician 1804-1881).

I like this quote because I believe it says a great deal about success in a very simple sentence. The most successful people have a goal (a purpose) that the keep in mind at all times to motivate them every day, even when the going gets rough. Anyone can be successful as long as they set a goal and keep it in mind no matter what.

Another quote that I like is "It's kind of fun to do the impossible" Walt Disney.

I like that quote because it shows how not everything is impossible. You need to always strive to be your best because you never know what might happen. It is fun to do the things you never imagined you could. :)

I am currently writing a research paper on Walt Disney. He was a remarkable man! Plus, he said a lot of great quotes. :)

There are many I like. One I use daily is;

"If you can conceive it and you believe it then you CAN achieve it"

Someone told me this when I was in the 6th grade (quite some time ago) and it has stuck with me! I believe it! :-)

I didn't get to finish posting the reason why that is my favorite quote because I was in a hurry but it just means so much to me and it's really deep. And since i believe that I am very zealou in my religion that it is applicable in that sense as well.

Perhaps a revolution can overthrow autocratic despotism and profiteering or power-grabbing oppression, but it can never truly reform a manner of thinking; instead, new prejudices, just like the old ones they replace, will serve as a leash for the great unthinking mass.~ IMMANUEL KANT

Re: Your Favorite Quote?
"Whether you think you CAN or you CAN'T, you are usually right." -Henry Ford

I have this quote on my wall along with a few others to motivate me. Even though this quote is very short, it says a lot about how people view challenges. Having the right mindset (a positive one) when you're about to try something you've never done before or something that is hard for you to do is key. If you've already made up your mind that you can do it, then you will succeed. But if you constantly tell yourself that you will never be able to do it, then you have already decided the outcome for yourself and blocked yourself in.
I think of this quote often when I am about to do something challenging or unpleasant (like public speaking). When I think about myself succeeding at it, it usually does end up well. It's a daily struggle for us all, though, I think.

As they say, you are your toughest critic. :)
