Would you change????
If you were a certain religion, and everyone new, and someone came up to you and told you that if you changed over to a different religion would you? Or would you stick to the religion you were raised up around and in???

I would definitely do what I wanted to do. I would not let anybody else influence my actions. It's your decision, and you have the right to choose. It's your life, so do what you believe is right.

If someone came up to me and told me to change my religion I would ask them why? Everyone has their own beliefs in different religions and I think that people should respect that. I personally would not change my religion if someone asked me too.

Hey Trent, so I'm just wondering if something is going on in your life that caused you to make this forum. Is somebody trying to get you to change? If so, the same thing happened to me and it broke my heart. I made a forum all about it and if you go to this link, you can read about what happened and peoples' responses. http://www.collegenet.com/elect/app/app?service=external/Forum&sp=21490&sp=157104#157104

For your own sake, don't change. No matter how much you love somebody, they should love you for being you. If you change, you would be changing to make the other person happy. Yes it is nice to do things for other people, but it's not a good idea if you're going to be miserable and regret it. Formal conversion is a significantly big deal. You can't be born a Christian and then decide to convert to a Buddhist and then decide that you're not too happy being Buddhist. You could drive yourself crazy changing back and forth and trying new religions. If you really want to change, do all of your research first before you make a decision. If you believe in God, (whatever God that may be) He will always be there. It's not a one time only offer. Make the decision when YOU are ready and comfortable. Do it on your own will and not because somebody pushed you to do it or guilt tripped you into it.

Right now I am doing a research paper and scholarship paper on religious freedom. The right to worship in your own way and change religions is actually very important. There is chaos in countries that don't allow this. Religiously intolerant government and societies often lead to genocide and persecution which include rape, murder, assault, oppression, lack of education and so on. It's very terrible what goes on when people are not accepted for who they are.

At least, in this country you have a choice. In other countries, you wouldn't really have that option. So be thankful that this is in your hands.

I added you on facebook, if you want to talk more. =)

That's good you guys, I just wanted some peoples opinions on the subject. I hope noone would change thier religion like that i hope they stick to thier own beliefs. Its their decision and theirs alone. Noone chould tell them different.

And to "luringattraction", fortunately I have not had this happen to me which i am thankfull for. And I dont see why someone would change their personal religion, but thats between them and theirselves. But i hope nothing like that ever happens to you again.

I would really have be naive to allow others to dictate my life and thought process. Religious is just another form of Fraternity/Sorority where individuals follow some sort of ritual and not allow their brain to be free and manifest a thought process that makes each and everyone of us and individual. I believe that spirituality is best understood and allows one to express oneself without remorse or judgement from others.

Religion. Sometimes I wish we didn't have any. Not because I don't believe in God, but because there is only one truth. Religions all have different beliefs about certain topics. If only everyone could come to an agreement. I can't wait for the day when everybody knows what the real truth is. I'm not saying I'm clear about everything, but I have never agreed 100% with any religion. I know that there will be people from many different religions that make it to paradise or heaven. It doesn't matter if you choose not to be involved in any religion or if you choose not to go to church. It is not a sin. It's all about you and your relationship with God. Everybody elses opinion does not matter.

IF i believed in it strongly I would stick with it. If someone is in a religion that they practice devoutly then they should be zealous about it. If not then they should either follow a different one or none at all. For me I will be staying the same religion my whole life because its what my family was brought upon and It just seems right and makes sense to me.

Re: Would you change????
I am wondering.

Who was the most influential person in the entire human history?
Why was this person influential?
Who did people say this person was?

If you look at these questions, you will find only one answer. One truth. A whole bunch of lies. I am not religious. I hate the word religion. It does not describe my spiritual state at all. I want to say that some people have seen the truth. They can't describe it, or even give it to you. You have to see it for yourself.

Do you believe in a universal truth?
Do you believe in universal morality?

There is a right and wrong. Who decides what is right and wrong?

Re: Would you change????
well i would change my religion because this is the only religion i have known all my life. I was raised in christianity being pentecostal. I love my religion though I respect everyone elses religion i love mines. I have learned alot of things about my religion although sometimes its strict. We believe in jesus christ and that he died on the cross for our sins. I couldnt imagine changing my religion. What I have learned is what I believe.

If you believe in the religion you are you should stick to it. But if the only reason you followed it was because your parents or family did then I would take a good look at what you believe and why. If you think the person knows what they're talking about then you should listen to them and see if it makes sense to you. I wouldn't change because I know what I believe is the truth and that is what is most important to me.

Re: Would you change????
If you believe stronly enough in your religion then you shouldnt change your religion especially. The only rson you should maybe consider it would be if you no longer have the same comitment to your religion and or are not satisfied w their teachings. No one should change their views just because another person told them to.
