What are you thankful for? a token of appreciation
I am so wonderfully happy and appreciative for what this site provides and this week, it happened to swing to my favor. I can not tell each and every one of you how thankful I am. It's been particularly hellish for me, and I've had a hard time keeping my chin up at points this week, but this has just been an amazing and wonderful inspiration, to refocus, propel, and motivate to further pursue my dreams, goal and aspirations. To all of you here on c-net I can not thank you enough.

As it has been a particularly hellish week though, I must admit that I need to take a step back and become a little less involved for a short time. I'm a little drained and a lot overwhelmed, but I still so want to support each of you to obtain this scholarship. So very simply I ask of you to tell me what you are thankful for. I realize Thanksgiving is still a ways off, but what do you enjoy about your life and time?
What do you think deserves 'thanks' in your life?
When all is awry is there something you turn to that is an integral part of your life?
Sing to the ceilings- what are you thankful for?

*Each of you as long as eligible will receive a vote as soon as is possible for me to complete. I will post in reply when I have completed casting them- probably on Monday, and again- THANK YOU*

I have a lot to be thankful for. First of all, my health. My real mother passed away at age 47 from health complications. I am only 5 years from that, but I have great health. I am also thankful for a loving family that is always there for me if I need them. I have a wonderful husband and in-laws that treat me as if I were one of their own. I have a roof over my head and food on the table. I may not be rich monetarily, but I am rich in everything else.

I am thankful for life. I am glad to say that I am a healthy person that is capable of doing all things. I am blessed because I wasnt born with any illness or disease. I am also thankful for those that push me to make something of myself.

I am thankful for my life and for being healthy. I am thankful for having food to eat and a house to live in. I am so thankful that I have a loving and supportive family. There are many people in this world who are not as fortunate and do not have a family that loves them, so I need to not take my blessings for granted. My friends are another thing that I am blessed with. I have a great group of friends that get along really well and I love them all. :)

what do you enjoy about your life and time?

About my life I enjoy my stability I guess, I need to remain strong because if I fall is hard to get back up. So being stable emotionally, psychologically and economically is extremely important to me.

What do you think deserves 'thanks' in your life?

The fact of having my mom with me yet, and the fact I have one more day of life.

When all is awry is there something you turn to that is an integral part of your life?

I guess when things go unexpected, I just remain calm and turn to myself or my mom to achieve relaxation and wait for the results of something not properly done.

Sing to the ceilings- what are you thankful for?

Being alive everyday and have my mom with me!

i am thankful for meeting people who have touched my life, whether positive or negative...i have struggled through hard times that only a glimmer shows in my forums.

there are certain people on here i am thankful for having in my life..even if it is a bit 1d, and those who i have actually spoken to in person or on the phone..who have cared and taken good care of me..by not turning their backs when i have felt crushed in the world...those people i thank the most...

i have friends here in the czech republic..who are very good friends (and some not so good as well)..and i am trying to develop a thanksgiving party/housewarming...so i can share the joy of having them near me. most know i abhor this time of year for things from my past..though this winter started last year...and continues..

but i have fought and stayed alive. that is what i am thankful for. i have survived...

I am thankful for my health. Both physical and mental. I couldn't imagine not being able to get up and work out whenever the mood strikes. I am thankful for my mental health and the ability to stay sain in an absolute crazy world. There is so much going on these days. All the illness and crime, and good people suffering because of the recession--it makes me really appreciate the small things again.

Re: What are you thankful for? a token of appreciation
It's nice to see that people on here are so real.

There's obviously many things to be thankful for in anyone's life. Personally, I'm thankful that my mother has given so much of herself and her life to support me in my endeavors concerning higher education. I'm currently applying for transfer to MIT, Stanford, and Caltech and instead of giving me the depressing statistics of acceptance, she's constantly telling me how unique I am and stupid they would be not to accept me. She makes me feel like I deserve the school, not that it would be a privilege to be accepted.

Almost everything pales in comparison to having her as a mother, but I'm also thankful that I was blessed with a penchant for creativity and innovation. It's serving me well both in school and my daily life. I suppose that is actually an offshoot of having my mom as a parent; she's ridiculously smart. I think I got her brain :)

There's more but I don't want to ramble. Thanks to my mom for being awesome!

I am a triplet but the other two were miscarried. I am thankful to be alive and healthy.

I am thankful that my mom survived her heart attacks and all the crazy accidents she has been in such as car accidents, hurricanes and a broken back.

I am thankful that I'm not an abused child.

I am thankful that I have a home and food.

I am thankful for the scholarship money that I have earned so far.

I am thankful for my best friends who have always stuck by me throughout life, rumors and serious problems.

I am thankful that my brother is happy once again after being broken hearted by a girlfriend of 4 years.

I am thankful that I am mostly over my broken heart.

I am thankful for being able to wear pants without being stoned to death.

I am thankful for freedom of religion, speech and so on.

I am thankful that I have opportunities that most people don't have. Like skiing, horseback riding, traveling, scuba diving, acting etc.

I am thankful that today is Saturday.

Erin, Thanks starting this forum. I am so very grateful for so many things. It's too many to mention, but I won't give up the chance to express my gratitude. I’m grateful for the opportunity to greet each day with a sense of adventure and enthusiasm, to enjoy my family and friends. I'm thankful that I live in a free country, have freedom of speech & religion. I'm always grateful for the ability to pursue my passions, goals and dreams.

Everyone that is on here thus far and eligible received a vote from me this morning- you are all welcome.

YVO- i didn't realize you were eligible again all ready man- good luck!

In addition to that, I just wanted to restate just how thankful I am to have won this scholarship again. I am also thankful for many things:
I am thankful I get the opportunity to go see my family in about two-three weeks, and in December Matt and I are going to go see his family in California. Both trips are going to be really stressful as I'm a bit eh, poor, but I am so looking forward to spending some time with family.
I am thankful I have Matt. He's wonderful, attentive, and loving. We've had our bumps in the road- potholes and all- but I could not be more thankful for him and what he does for me.
I am thankful to have my health. It waivers from time to time, but all in all, I am thankful that all though I have been without health insurance for many years, my medical bills are not too far out of control.
I am thankful to be back in school. I love education more than anything in the world and I love learning. It's truly been a blessing to be challenged and learning everday.
I am thankful that I have a beautiful and modest home with loving pets.

I am truly thankful for so many things, and it seems silly and insignificant to simply state that I am thankful for these things, not a measure of my thanks in its immensity at all, however, when you have very little to give I figure all you can give is thanks.

I am thankful to be alive. I am thankful for my family. I am thankful for my friends. I am thankful for my job. I am thankful for my house. I am thankful everything that has been given me.

I don't have the best life in the world, but it is much better than the majority of the world. I have clean water. I have a place to rest my head every night. I am in college. Life is so much better than it could be.

Re: What are you thankful for? a token of appreciation
I too am just thankful to be alive and healthy. I lost a good friend who was my age in a car accident earlier this year and am fully aware that those things happen when you least expect it--and it just as easily could've been me on a different day and in different circumstances.

I'm also thankful for my friends and family. I have been blessed with amazing family and friends who have been there for me in different parts of my life. My college friends mean so much more to me now than ever before, because they really stepped up and offered their support and love to me when I found out about my friend's accident. I am forever grateful for the kind of support I got from them and a few in particular have become like family to me. :)

I'm also thankful I'm in college and have the privilege to get an education. I'm thankful I'm living in Florida and haven't had to switch to real shoes yet--and it's November! :D
I'm thankful I have a place to live, food in the cabinets, clean water and roommates to share those things with. I'm thankful I have people who care about and love me...so many people don't experience that in their everyday lives. Even though things don't always go how I want them to, I am very fortunate to have the life I have.

I am thankful for all of the blessings that I have been given in my lifetime. Most importantly my beautiful children who are so resilient. Our lives have not turned out as I imagined nor as they imagined but through it all we still stand strong and we won't give up. Giving thanks to your blessings no matter how bad things may seem there is always something to say thank you for and be appreciative of whether it be that the sun came out today or you say thank you for the shade tree in the yard that gives you relief in the hot summer sun. Or just being thankful for waking up this morning. To move forward to the next adventure in your journey! That is what I am thankful for.

Saxnim, Julia, and Autumn- welcome to cnet, best of luck and wishes and thank you for taking the time to respond to this forum.

I certaintly wish I had more time to be around, i love this site so much, but I simply do not- I am a bit overwhelmed and bogged down by an autrocious list of things to do. Either way, it's a pleasure to meet you three.

I'll continue to check in periodically and send out votes. Today is all ready Wednesday again! Good luck to everyone!

I am thankful that I was accepted into a Nursing Program! I have been working 11 years towards my RN and it is FINALLY my turn! After having to put my goals to the side to help others, I finally have a chance to "do me".
I am also thankful to have the ability to care for my niece. She is 1 years old and came from a very horrible home. My husband and I will do anything and everything we can in order to keep her safe and provide her with a caring, safe and nurturing home. She deserves it!
I am thankful for my 11 year old son! He is SUCH a great person! He loves helping others and has been an amazing "big brother/cousin" to my niece! I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful child!
I am thankful for my husband. He is currently not working in his field of trade due to the economy. However, instead of sulking or being on unemployment, he went out and took a job that doesn't pay well and he has to work graveyard hours doing hard labor. He did this for US, his family! He is a great man and I am so very lucky to have him in my life!
Lastly, I am thankful for everyone who has given me support, words of encouragement, a shoulder, an ear but mostly just been there when I've needed them the most!
THANK YOU!!

Oh duh...Thank you CNET for having a place for those of us who really need the assistance in order to achieve our educational hopes, dreams and goals!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
