-A white female president or a black male president.
...let me know what you think.

well i don't think race should matter in a situation like this cause what the american people is looking for is for someone who can really help this country and make it a good place for the. someone how is going to be there for the people and all thats in your hand, you have that choice. so don't make that choice on race. look and see what you see in that person and what makes him/her someone you could vote for. and also please don't your vote on gender cause what ever a man can do a women can.

I agree. Both are getting the votes and it shows that neither gender or color is an issue anymore.

If third world countries are able to appoint women leaders, America can just as well.

I don't about China though. I don't think we ever had women leaders, oh yea, the empress of China but I'm talking about in the new generations.

Anyway, it's not a big of a deal, I think their are other controversies that people are concerned about.

I think a woman president would be a bigger "adjustment" but I believe America is certainly "ready" for either scenario.

Interestingly, I know several Republican women who would probably vote for Hillary and several Democrat women who would not.

It seems to me, that the people who oppose Hillary do so out of personal dislike for her or her policies, but the people willing to cross over and vote just like the idea of a woman president.

I haven't met anybody yet who opposes her because she is a woman (I'm sure people like that exist - but I don't think the numbers are that large).

I think either person- Obama or Hillary- will be an adjustment for this country. We live in a country that still deals with racism and sexism. As a country, we should be voting for who we think will do the best for us- not whether she is a woman or he is black.

The media is the problem in today's society anyway. Most people could care less about gender and race gaps. But when the media doesn't have anything to report on, it turns Hillary's words into racist ones or Barack's words into sexist ones.

People need to do their own research and forget what the media and the Al Sharpton/Jesse Jackson's of the world are saying.

I think any kind of adjustment has to be better than the past 7 years of political embarrassment that the United States has encountered. I do think it's great that we are at a time that a Woman and a Man are cadidates for Presidency, it shows how far we have come and everything America has fought for.

The bigger adjustment has to be a black man.

There have been many female rulers around the world, like in Hawaii and Pakistan, but very few black people who have ruled a white majority.

But in my opinion, Hilary and Obama are excellent candidates for president. No matter who wins this election... we will experience change.

I watch CNN everyday, and they talk about the influence of race and "female power" (for lack of better words) in the elections all the time. The fact that we are willing to discuss these issues openly definitely helps in the adjustment to either candidacy.

i dont think it should matter. we need someone that can actually run this country and improve ourselves to be better and to improve our economy. our country is messed up in a lot of ways, so a change might be good for us.

I'm going to state my opinion honestly, because most people I talk to sugar coat this whole issue.

Anyone who truly enjoys and understand politics will tell you passionately it doesn't matter if your black, white, purple, man, woman, in-between... public policy, defense, international relations, and the economy leaves a far longer lasting impression in future generations then any gender or racial hype can.

If someone has a plan that not only looks good on paper, but can benefit you and your country in the future, I don't think their religious affiliation or what family they come from should even cross anyone's mind.

But I also don't agree with this "It's time for a change" line I've been hearing, because someone without a political background may take it as it's time to put a "Man of your color" or a "Woman just like you" in the seat of power rather then; it's time to change how costly insurance is, or how we will improve our stance in foreign affairs.

Please don’t vote based on characteristics that won’t make a difference, vote on stances that will…after all the UN secretary general, Kofi Atta Annan, (97-07) was a black man from Ghana, and the twice elected Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto, was a woman…
