My name is Lynsey. I am going to be starting college in August of this year, and I am funding the entire thing myself. My family never has been well-off, and no one talks to anyone anymore. I have lived in over six different households since I was twelve, a lot of it being in foster care. I was placed in the custody of the state at the age of fifteen, and recently moved in with my father. It is a big adjustment for us, because we never really spent much time together. I have had most of the most important people to me die in the last three years, starting with my best friend and ending with my stepmother. If I find a way to finance college, I will be the first person in my family to ever go. I want to study psychology and eventually become a psychiatrist who provides counseling so that I can help people with mental illnesses who might not otherwise be able to afford help. I am also a tutor, student council member, president of debate, and a leader within my school. All that being said, I am first and foremost just a girl: me!
